Early Access Review
For an early beta it's a great game!
Character creation is... something, but the races and classes so far are quite unique and interesting to play around with.
Combat itself is also served on a similar plate, as this game seems to really lean on to souls-like and fighting game mechanics, with precise dodging and blocking being key for survival -- which kind of sucks since I like to unga bunga my way through enemies.
My only gripe is with the dungeons. Dungeons are the only place so far where you can't play with other players no matter what, which really sucks since this game is gaining track for its quick and easy multiplayer experience.
Vanity is also kinda wack, requiring you to cough up lots of currency if you want to play dress up, and lose anything you make should you find stronger gear.
Besides that, there is a bit of jank here and there, but I expect it will all smooth out over time.

A 2010's classic that has aged like... water.
I will admit, the graphics and soundtrack are still just as charming as back in the day, hell, nostalgia brings it up a peg or two.
But the gameplay nowadays feels a bit jarring: it's simple, and unfortunately repetitive. And the humor also hasn't remained as fresh.
Still, it is definitely one of the best experiences you'll ever have with gaming in general, and a very fun game to play with friends, especially.
Buy this whenever, and if you see it on sale, grab copies for any friends who you think might enjoy some old-school beat-em-ups.

First of all, this game is completely free on any website that hosts flash games. And yes, while the price tag is quite cheap (although it still charges you for DLC), it doesn't justify some of the following:

1. The game lagging quite often, with visible frame loss, despite modern computers being able to run games like this with FPS in the thousands.
2. Being unable to alt-tab out of the game without it taking a second to think about it, or even outright crash.
3. The difficulty of the game pretty much forcing you to replay every level since it's impossible to get a perfect score unless you use one or more pre-game boosts (which is hard to build up for).
And finally,
4. The RNG based mob drops that can make or break a run.

Despite all that, the game is quite fun, and the charming graphics give that sense of 2010's nostalgia.
Buy this on sale only.

A shadow of its former glory.

Trust me when I say that I had probably around 1000 hours on Overwatch. I got a digital copy of the Origins edition a few weeks after it launched and played it daily for hours on end. And it was great.

It was a very well made take on the MOBA and FPS genre, with a diverse and fun cast of characters to choose from and fairly elaborate maps, no two matches would ever feel the same.

Of course, it wasn’t perfect. Balancing issues, bugs, the toxic community, among other things, did make it feel like a chore to play sometimes. But it was still very much alright, more than enough to be well worth the price tag.

And the cinematics, the new map releases, the hero teasers, the events,… truly, with the way things were going, this supposed “TF2 killer” was rising its way up on the internet, every day selling more copies, getting more views on twitch and youtube, fan content on twitter, tumblr, facebook...

And then, things started to decline. Everything that made it great, was now becoming its hubris. Balancing patches upon balancing patches changed the meta in not very fun ways, some of the new heroes were either useless or busted, events became stale, and the releases of cinematics slowed down to a crawl.

The passion players had for the game gradually died down, and it didn’t help that many things that the devs promised never happened. And let’s not forget all the scandals inside Blizzard.

Finally, came Overwatch 2. And oh boy what a disappointment it was. The hero changes, smaller team size, battle pass, unlock system. There was no end to the absurdity of the situation. Have you ever seen players beg and plead for a lootbox system to be brought back? And worst of all, players like me, who paid more when they bought their copy of the game, didn’t even receive any form of bonus as compensation for the extra support way back then.

Overwatch 2 is not a spit on the face of Overwatch players, it’s an assault.

Also, it’s McCree. Not Cassidy.

the learning curve is a bit weird if not steep, even
but once you understand how the game functions, it's one of the best experiences you'll have out there

the only thing that annoys me is how in expert and master mode the game can get grindy, as you'll need better equipment in order to progress
but hey, if you play on those difficulties, you're probably not minding that anyways

I had been eyeing this game since its release, and now that I bought it, I can that it's worth the price. However, don’t expect much from it, considering that it’s Ironhide’s take on the RTS genre.

If I were to make some form of comparison, if StarCraft and Age of Empires are Coke and Pepsi, then Iron Marines is the weird tasting soda you get from fast food chains. The complex mechanics flavor is watered down, and then compensated by kicking up the sweetness with fun graphics and story.

The levels are nicely mapped out, the units do their job, and the enemies are fair to fight against – most of the time. And there’s just enough depth and nuance to make the player have to plan out their actions, although there’s some room for cheesing.

And sure, the game has some issues that most players wish to see them patched, but besides that, this is a nice little game to introduce someone to the RTS genre without feeling too overwhelming.

You can easily clock in 10-20 hours depending on how much investment you want to do, and even go beyond that if you’re an achievement hunter.

Again, worth the price if you want to out try the genre.
