It been nearly 10 years, and was worth the wait.

Launch was a tad rocky with a few bumps in the road. There was a moment I got a little concerned with amazons direction, but the road map as it stands right now (28/03/2022) seem to be good. It going to take something pretty big to mess this game up, lets home this review ages well...

Is there pay to win? Yes

You can buy gold with real money if needed, but I would say (again as it stands) you can completely play the game free to play without an issue. You will be gated of course as i'll get my hoaning (gear upgrades) done and I will run out until the reset next week. I treat it as running a raid in wow and needing more loot but im locked out for a week. You could either do some side content for more or get your wallet out and purchase more on the AH. I am currently in the "dead zone" 1340-1370" and the thing is, the game is fun enough for you to WANT to do the content. Islands, events, bosses, Alts. There really isnt too much pressure to buy in my opinion. I get people have that FOMO and want to rush to end game for some reason. Thats on amazon for launching the game in T3, they have openly stated they made a mistake with that which meant there is a tonne of content to get through which makes people rush through it. in reality we should be playing the content at our own pace, there is no gain in rushing through as you will find out some content needs tactics and knowledge. This game is fantastic for exploration, trying out other classes, doing harder content as you level.

Classes are super fun to play (yes gender locked oof) you'll be able to find a class that's suits your play style, and even if you change your mind about a class, then, boom, you have an alt ready to go. They also share your collection items which is a fantastic feature as all your characters are tied to an account level. As someone who HATES alts, this is great as you done have to redo alll the side content stuff. Talking about collections, this is by far the best game for collectors, not only are there fun things to collect they give you permanent stat boosts to ALL your characters as its account bound.
