Played ESO during the Beta when I was still incredibly optimistic about the game and immediately canceled my pre-order. Came back to it recently with the intention of making fun of it with a couple of friends and it's since become my favorite MMO. Game has grown and developed a ton since the days of the early beta. Few MMOs reward exploration in the way this game does and progression feels constant even at level cap. It's hard to believe but you're rewarded for doing anything you want to do in this game, literally. Everything you're doing rewards you in some way or another in a meaningful way. The entire sandbox world is leveled to you which means that unlike other MMOs you're rewarded for completing each zone in whatever order you feel like and the old content is never outdated and irrelevant. That said the crown store's microtransactions are a bit on the extreme side but can be ignored entirely with no penalty to the experience, it's almost entirely cosmetics that can be earned easily without spending real money. Content is updated super frequently and it feels like you never run out of things to do. The game defies a lot of other conventions to make it feel at home to people migrating from Skyrim which can make the game feel like a strange hybrid that doesn't quite meld at times, but survive the jankness and you'll be rewarded with a super unique and well designed MMO.
