I started playing this game when it was free giveaway in battle.net and i was not really envolved in this universe. Later when it came out in Steam, me and my friend played it for every day discovering new things like dungeons, raids, classes, skills, story and so on. I still play this game for almost every day, however it is getting more and more stale, every time i do the same routine - farming contracts for bright dust and experience. I had season pass only for one season - season of dawn and it was quite good i must say, still grindy but good (season 9 trailer is epic, i keep watching it from time to time, compared to the boring season 10...)
The more i play this game, the more problems i find. Broken triumphs (e.g. Lawless frontier book which is required to get Chronicler seal, and it IS STILL BUGGED for probably over 2 years!), some triumphs work fine but give 0 score (e.g. Redrix weapon kills in crucible or mountaintop), I understand some triumphs got nerfed to give 0 score because of the people getting boosted and abused server to reach 5500 rank in competitive, but still there is much less point to play PVP (Especially with huge amount of cheaters in Osiris and regular modes). They just get banned and make new accs and play for free...For EXAMPLE Bungie could add a limitation to play Osiris only if you have all expansions, but they didn't care much about it.
PVE content is great for new players - plenty of raids, strikes, holiday events, secrets, puzzles, dungeons and gambit (semi pvp-pve mode). The problem with this content is that it was here since Forsaken expansion. Nothing new added at ALL. No new maps for Gambit, no new strikes, Last raid Garden of salvation was released quite a long time ago. Raid loot is terrible, there is no point to farm bosses if you keep getting items with low gear stats mostly all the time, unless you do it for your Power level or just good looking view. From my point of view Bungie only shows some love for PVP gamers adding new maps and modes, and also to attract more cheaters to the game... But Destiny 2 IS NOT A PVP GAME. PVE is what makes this game great.
Since Destiny 2 was originally a console game, it has big issues for PC players - Long interface animations, sometimes terrible loading times. No leaderboards inside the game as well as group or Clan search. YOU HAVE TO USE WEBSITES to find a party, clan and probably Discord servers. Matchmaking doesn't allow to play ONLY with friends, which i understand why they did that, but still... ALL raids have Wipe mechanics. IF one of your teammates make A SINGLE mistake, your entire group will die 90% chance. Some sparrows, ships and armor pieces have EXACT same model but different shader lol such a lazy design. Servers are poorly optimized since the season 10 (Disconnects, fireteam disbanding, BEAVER error codes and so on), broken chat which doesn't work for some reason while playing with randoms or sitting in tower. Annoying Shader system which forces you to reclaim and open each shader manually to apply new look without Search option! And there are no filters at all (even no alphabetical order)
End-game is 2 years old in this game, and seasons don't chance much. You play for grind and bright dust and the amount of content in each season is probably for one month long. Bungie simply stretches content to play the same for an entire 3 months.
I no longer play this game because, as i said earlier it is a contract simulator or secondary job. It doesn't bring much joy anymore. Every week is the same routine - Farming bright dust, XP, engrams and salvaging 99% of items for pointless mats.

TL:DR It's no longer the same game as it used to be.
