captures a feeling of late 2000's-2010's online social spaces and allows people to have something to do while chatting with others they're likely never going to see again. gameplay is simple but enough to keep you engaged while you're doing the aforementioned chatting. if you like talking with others this is the ♥♥♥♥, if you dont then you shouldnt bother

The game everybody owns, and for good reason. seriously play this one with your friends, they probably already own it and would love the nostalgia trip but so much has changed overtime they will have their brains painting the ceiling once they hear whats changed.

often goes on sale for less than the price of a sandwich and has more content in it than anything that sandwich could have ever given you. devs have been working on it for over a decade now, and they are still finding good things to put into the game. every time you think you are running low on content they put in another gate boss and give you more to do afterwards. i've been playing this game since 2015 on and off and i still haven't hit the end.

its not a minecraft clone, its more like diablo but 2d. its so fun to drop into a world and try to figure out what build you're going to do then having that expectation blown when a monster or chest drops a rare item you vibe with so hard that you start finding other items like it. bosses are satisfying to fight and are great benchmarks for how far you've come. its a great game.

take a short but eventful romp through a new age retro version of new york city. Animated by emmy award winning animators (seriously look it up, they didnt win it by a technicality either.) this quirky comedic game has you take the reigns of a strange figure as he tries to figure out what is happening in pat the alligators family. every character you will see is unique and has their own feel to them, and every minigame ends up being a fun little diversion.

my only complaint is that it isn't longer! i don't know if smallbu have plans to make another game (they are already back at it animating) but if they do you bet ill be in day one next time! cannot recommend enough.

Look, before i start, this is a good game. cars go vroom, handling is fun, and its ultimately what ive come to expect from a non kart racing game. but there are some questionable choices that have been made as part of the fundemental design of the game that im just not sure about. wheelspins are lootboxes that while yes they give out frequently seem to have their drops tied with progression, which will eventually dry up as i play on. the ui has the feel of "this is the forth one fans, you know where the thing you want is" when im just jumping in. many features of the game seem to be heavily progression locked, (my current complaint being fast travel, but the daily objectives was the previous hurdle)

but mostly all of this could be forgivable if i could just race against other people. ive seen them in the world, and no i know the difference between the fakes and the real deal, but there is no matchmaking or queueing system from what i can tell, you're expected to go up to an event and be able to race against others but most of the time you end up getting kicked because nobody came to race, so you end up queuing against bots, which is boring as they don't seem to have any personality to driving besides follow the line. i want drivers who actively try to ♥♥♥♥ me not good clean racers.

oh, did i mention that since a newer title has come out in the series they've put this one into maintenance mode? no new content is fine but ive noticed my connection to online has been ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ since the release of the newer title, pointing to them changing something behind the scenes. so if you want to play a racing game start with the newer title, and avoid this one.

A masterpiece of its time, and now a beautiful lesson on game preservation. some notes:

The game expects a 4:3 aspect ratio monitor, if your reading this on a rectangle you're going to need, and want, a widescreen patch. if you can output to a 4:3 monitor you get bonus nostalgia points.

This game was designed with a controller in mind, and has great Xpad support, please do not torture yourself with a keyboard.

i feel like i can say nothing about the game, as it is a very linear story that is a grand tour of writing, gameplay, and art design that makes me renember why video games are just as valid of an art form as movies or the theater. play it if you haven't, play its sequel if you haven't. 10/10

This is truely what the metaverse will look like, take a sneak peak people. nobody follows a dress code, if any laws of reality exist in this god forsaken hellhole they exist only to be broken by its residents. there seems to be an overall understanding that a large portion of content on the platform is piracy, and that's okay i guess because its user generated?

Anyway, its the only place Luci from Disenchated, Jake the Dog from Adventure time, and an anime girl can all be in the same place, and having a conversation about drug useage, 10/10

A great game to have a quick run through with a friend!

This game is a masterclass of UI design. I am not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around here, this game handles inventory, item usage, and even trading, all without a single interface on the screen. There was a moment where I needed a resource, so another player in my session just dropped it into my backpack.

i havent even gotten into the gameplay, game design, and general feel of the game, all of which are stellar. this game has an extreme amount of polish, i highly recommend this game to anyone who can convince a friend to play with them

gmod is that classic.all your friends have it, it works with all of your source games, and you can always find something to do in it. wait till its on sale for the price of a sandwich and then proceed to spend a fair amount of time in it.
