You have to explore the entire game multiple days, or just follow one of the guides on steam detailing where they are, in order to fully understand the story.

Having said that, the abrupt change in Irving's voice on day 9 as you are getting progressively closer to the truth feels like not even the writer's knew what the ♥♥♥♥ they wanted out of this game, I mean on day 7 he tries to get intimate with you lol so unless it was intended and an act, then the writing in this game is bonkers.

Still, it's pretty short and if you enjoy games like these, go ahead.

Buyer beware, take the whole "optimised for PC, featuring full screen support and running at 60 FPS" with a grain of salt as the game struggles to keep the framerate stable for most of the game, the framerate gets especially unstable when you reach chapter 11.

Honestly, if you've played FF XV or VII INTERGRADE or REBIRTH the combat will MOSTLY make sense and the job system is fun to play with.

The story on the other hand is okay at best, it relies a lot on you to read the Datalog to make most sense of it, I mean it's not bad but you shouldn't have to do that but what do I know. The characters are okay, Lightning has a resting ♥♥♥♥♥ face complex most of the game and by the time she smiles it looks so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fake, hollow and forced that I immediately didn't like it.

Overall the game is ok... I mean, compared to the rest in the mainline series it gets a 7 for effort, clearly the combat was ahead of it's time and requires critical thinking (not FromSoft type of thinking but at least some decent strategy) which some will find fun but it gets pretty boring, pretty fast.

I enjoyed this far more than Unity but I'm sad Evie was basically tossed aside for side content and not enough main missions or assassinations.

Gameplay wise, the game is a step up from 3, story wise is a downgrade from 3. That's pretty much it

This is a hit or miss, I've been playing the campaign solo and with a friend, the only difference in terms of campaigns is that you don't get cinematics during co-op.

Single player is a terrible experience and I don't recommend it at all cause the AI is pretty bad, you have to babysit your entire squad and most of the time your only healer is an idiot, I've had to tell him to heal himself only for him to go like, I think I'll rather die and proceeds to die, I dunno if this is only happening to me or not. Heavy gunner guy's AI is fine, he actually does something but having to keep an eye on yourself and your healer isn't really fun. You also don't get any sort of progression rewards for playing on single player campaign making it almost entirely pointless to even bother with it save if you wanna see the cinematics.

This leads to the game being best enjoyed on multiplayer so let's talk about that. Overall the gameplay is similar to Vermintide/Vermintide 2 except this one's set in the 40K Universe, so you play as a Space Marine I think (I'm still relatively new to the 40k lore so don't @ me) going from mission start to a point on the map that leads you to another point in the map and so on until you finish the level, every time you reach an objective you get a psygate that allows you to get healed, change your class or your weapon, there are also relics scattered throughout the level which at the end count for extra exp and you can check them out in more detail in the single player campaign but they don't add anything to the gameplay systems.

There's different classes and each class can use different weapons, there's also plenty of customization, the progression is as follows: you complete a level, and you get exp based on how many kills and assists you got, how many deaths you got, damage done and relics found, after that the rank up bar fills and sometimes you get a box that has a weapon skin, I haven't seen armour skins or banners so I can't confirm if you can get them there too, and you also get renown which is the currency used to upgrade either your guns or your class making it have lower cooldowns and so on. I don't know if there's a level cap but I've seen some people be level 1000+ complaining about how low level players don't know what they're doing, (well duhh they're new you moron!) so they leave them to die. So overall there's obviously a grind if you want to feel competent enough to benefit your team.

My only complaints with this game are very minimal, one of them being that it has no music or eerie sounds as you're going through the space hulk with your homies like, idk maybe I'm used to having it in games and I can see they're trying to evoke the same feeling of what you saw on Alien movie where there was no music or sounds and then the xenomorph came out of nowhere to kill people but I'm not so sure this works in a game where most likely you're gonna be shooting the ♥♥♥♥ with your friends on voice chat.

Another complain is that you can't really appreciate much of the gothic architecture that makes 40K because you're in corridors most of the time, yes I know you're in a space hulk thank you, captain obvious, that doesn't mean I don't wanna see the architecture so huff my balls.

And finally complaint number 3 is that the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ melee is clunky as ♥♥♥♥, I've seen people with a sword not hit ♥♥♥♥ right in front of them so who the ♥♥♥♥ knows how it works.

To summarize; you don't get exp if you play solo and don't even bother with it cause terrible experience, play with friends and not some random ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that wants you to run like the flash to catch up with his ♥♥♥♥♥ ass.

This game is ass, I played the entire campaign with a friend and even though the gameplay is fun it gets overly repetitive, side quests are boring and we ended up not bothering with them past a certain point because all we were getting was money which, was of no real use since you get tons of it as you play through it, also, might be because of the character I chose but I couldn't use half of the mods we were given making weapon modding feel useless to me. Guns feel cheap in a game that emphasizes melee combat and mods for guns make them even more op.

Moving on to the main story, yeah, lol, it's ass. don't bother understanding it because it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ show. Buy it on sale and even then play it with a homie or 2 to have a laugh.

EDIT: After clearing the game, I've decided to still hold a "Maybe" on whether I recommend it or not.

My complaints are mainly the same and I'll address the elephant in the room, the combat in this game sucks ass at higher difficulties, beating it on Hard didn't even give me a sense of accomplishment like it did with the previous games and having beaten those on Legend as well I can't see myself beating this one, mainly because the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ enemies guard A LOT, sometimes you hit air and you're meters away from them and no way to hit them yet they still guard lol, it's funny.

The story, after a full playthrough, I can't even say I enjoyed it cause it felt more half assed than the essays I used to do in college and sloppier than a nasty BJ. It also has some really stupid twists, I mean Joji? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ seriously?

Buy this on sale and rush through it to get to Yakuza 4 tbh.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I really wish there was a "Maybe" button for these recommendations, I'll also update my review after a complete playthrough.

Where to start? Guess I'll start with the main story, I haven't finished it yet but it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sloppy and slow the chapters I've played and a bit political if you ask me.

Gameplay is... I mean it's there and while it's not the best, it's also not what you're used to if you come from 0-Kiwami 2, movement is super sensitive if you're using an Xbox 360/Xbox One controller but if you use a PS4/PS5 controller it seems to be normal. Fights are annoying with how much block enemies use only to combo your ass with no time to put up a guard yourself so you end up going through more healing items than in other games in the series.

Substories are weird, they pop up as ? on the minimap but it doesn't even notify you started a new one nor gives you its name like in previous games making tracking longer by having to go into the menu to find out which ones you've done, I can tell I'm not really gonna bother with all of them save for some of them which tie into the story or so I've heard.

♥♥♥♥ golfing. ♥♥♥♥ chase sequences and definitely ♥♥♥♥ pool.

I'll come back to this once I beat it

Oh Black Flag... This is probably Ubisoft's Magnum Opus when it comes to the whole franchise. I mean... You're playing as a pirate and meeting some of history's notorious pirates, Blackbeard!, Mary Read/James Kidd!, Anne Bonny, Jack Calico, Charles Vane, not only that but most of the exploration you'll do is on the sea, I remember 3 had a small glimpse of naval exploration but this one turns it up to 11 and adds combat, you can sink other ships and loot em for resources.

With that said, it's a highly recommended from me, as with the suits you have to actually hunt to get some of them, also for ship upgrades.

What's not fun is that my game bugged on sequence 12, so I never got the achievement for completing the game even though I did, that's Bugisoft for ya.

I've been playing AC games since the very first one, sadly I found the first one to be overly repetitive and boring.

Then I played 2 and I loved it, it's like they really focused on improving the gameplay.

Then jumped to 3 and I loved it as well, I'm always interested in the colonies and the fact that you play as a native american the majority of the game really got me hooked. That said, I played it a long time ago so I don't remember much (I'll do a rerun soon) but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Story is good, and some of the most important fights in the history of america's independence are there, along with some of history's characters again, like Benjamin Franklin and George Washington, so you know, that's cool. Also, everyone wears those wigs that are funny.

I did encounter some performance issues in certain quests but like I said, I played it a long time ago and my hardware then wasn't the same as today's.
