SteamWorld knocks it out of the park again - an amazing blend of worldbuilding, narrative, and of course, turn-based tactics gameplay.

Story, gameplay, history, and a dash of fencing. A short, but incredibly sweet game. A puzzle game, a gaming game, a game about dealing your own destiny.

Pyre is kind of hard to explain. It's kind of a sports game, but also kind of a visual novel. It's kind of a game about philosophy and religion, but also kind of a game about speccing your characters correctly.

But whatever it is, however it's described, it fits together incredibly, and tells a singularly amazing story with a varied cast. You should play it.

It's prettty much Star Trek. No, but like really.

A turn-based tactics game, but where you have to aim your shots! Steampunk worms, in other words.

Relatively short (~5 hours), but a ton of fun, with great art and great gameplay. It's somewhat linear, and many of the systems feel like they were scoped out to be more and then walked back, but it's a great game nonetheless.

A good shibboleth for whether or not you could be a programmer. If you have that mindset, you'll love this game. If you don't, you will put it down very, very quickly.
