Good strategy roguelike with clear LISA inspiration

Feels great, environments destructibility lends itself to a lot of strategy, game's just good

Fun stardew/pokemon hybrid

+ Fun creature collector combat with slay the spire type card mechanics
+ Team building is fun and interesting
+ Buildling and resource gathering is pretty standard but well implemented
+ Overworld pixel art is consistently good

- Character portraits and personalities can be a bit rough
- Needing to maintain boxed spirits is annoying, and the resource to avoid this is limited
- Bit of a weird disconnect between your character being written as a kid and the game being a dating sim
- Dungeons and islands can be a bit repetitive

Stuff I would like to see:
Multiplayer! Both a battle/trading option, pokemon style, and/or a stardew valley style option with multiple players in a world could be pretty great.
Spirits having both a combat and noncombat ability instead of one or the other. It's annoying to switch between parties depending on which half of the game you're doing and would be cool to feel like the guys who are helping you win fights are also helping you interact.
More island variety/more unique scripted encounters on the islands. The core loop is good but the islands don't feel unique since they just have different spawns.
Better ways to grind to make the team you want - maybe other alchemists you could fight against that won't end the day if you lose.

Good motherlike, but the story didn't hit me as hard as I was expecting it to because of a twist near the end that reframes the story in an unsatisfying way for me. Otherwise, good story, great characters, great art, solid battles, okay music, a wealth of side content, and good horror elements. Also feels like the most faithful earthbound inspired game I've played while still being very unique. I think LISA is still my favorite game in this genre, and Rakuen did a better job at punching me in the gut emotionally, but this game is a great complete package, and I would be crazy not to recommend it just because the ending soured me a bit.

Haven't played a ton yet, but the transition to 3d from RoR 1 feels very smooth. If you like roguelikes, you'll probably like this game.

Warframe is an awesome, non pay to win MMO that is insanely fun and easy to get into.
