Vesperia is considered a modern classic JRPG, but it does honestly have its flaws.

First the good:
-really strong cast with great interaction, even if Patty feels a bit shoehorned into a lot of scenes if you played the original
-the port is extremely solid, even supporting dualshock 4 natively
-really fun combat system when it eventually opens up
-easily a hundred hours of gameplay

The bad:
-the plot is a lot weaker in the third act. Not terrible, but it goes extremely cliche when for the first two acts it was fairly unique for the time.
-Patty is shoehorned into a lot of sections. Her scenes are about 50/50 for what works and what doesn't. She is amazingly fun in combat though.
-The battle system locks a LOT of basic moves/abilities early on that it really shouldn't. It takes a good 20-30 hours before you really get to play with the full system.
