Finished story mode, will definitely recommend to friends. Word of warning though, it's best you look up on where to find fragments and specific materials if you want to save time; I spent a lot of time with aimless wandering before I decided to just look it up in the wiki. Regardless of that, it's still an excellent survival-crafter, and this is coming from someone who got tired of survival-crafters for a good long while.

Oh, and bless the Prawn Suit. Thank you, tiny gundam.

What I expected: casual, cute cat simulation about hunting and catnip jokes

What I got: War, politics, lore, magic powers... combined with all of the above

This game has a lot more depth than the premise would let you believe. Yes, you're a cat who's just trying to survive in the wild, but there are different cat colonies fighting every day in border skirmishes, an old forest guardian has vanished, and you got skills that you can keep upgrading. So far it's pretty fun, and my only real issue is that hunting seems to be a little random; the distance for the pounce doesn't look like it's consistent. Otherwise, this is definitely worth the 19.99 USD

I backed this game three years ago. I don't regret it. In fact, I'm glad I did.

As a guy whose life went into the deep dumps after droppin out but then got the help of my friends and family to get my life together again, this game really resonated with me. Gameplay-wise it has a few minor issues, like the finicky high jump mechanic and the slight repetition involved in moving around the town (menu-based fast-travel after the first few days woulda been great!)

Regardless, I fell in love with this game, mostly thanks to the strength of its characters. Mae's friends are totally people I would hang out with. Same goes for Mae. They're not perfect, but they're good people.

If you are the kind of person who wants a game with a huge focus on story and characters, this is definitely for you.

I just finished this game, and here's what I got to say about it: This game feels to me like a Grand Theft Auto game that was written by smarter people but had a lower budget. The best parts about this game are in the use of setting and time period, along with some good dialogue and characters I bothered to remember and care about (especially Vito, Father James and John Donovan). The gunplay was fun too; the enemies are dumb but that makes it fun to mess around with them as you constantly relocate to different cover.

The problem is that while the narrative parts and main missions are fun, the rest of the game relies on a repetitive loop of 'smash rackets and take em over'. All the side missions are really simple compared to everything else. To the game's credit, it doesn't make you finish every single side mission to progress, but the side missions were so unimaginative and unvaried that it felt like they were made by a different team.

Another problem: No fast travel. The city is kinda small and it wont take you more than 8 minutes to go around from A to B if you were driving at top speed 24/7 like me, but still, this was a baffling design decision.

That said, I personally believe that this game is worth finishing. I liked Lincoln Clay, and I sincerely hope that there's DLC that either involves him or John Donovan, the best/worst CIA agent ever. If you're willing to go through some repetitive missions to soak in a simple but memorable revenge tale, buy this game. Wait for a discount if you don't want to pay the full almost-sixty dollars, but I will say that everybody who's played open world crime games should experience this game just for the characters and vibe alone.

I am on my third playthrough, doing everything differently. Don't worry about paying real money to get upgrades; you really don't need to buy Praxis kits. There are occasional bugs, but I've found that the dev team does pay attention to reports and they do keep refining this game. My only real complaint: You can't do New Game Plus Plus. As in, if you beat the game on New Game Plus, you cannot carry over Super Jensen into another new playthrough.

After finishing this game, I highly recommend it, but do be warned that it can get somewhat monotonous at times, and a few of the systems aren't clearly explained (like how Professionalism affects chances of success, proper sequencing in detective cases, interrogations, etc.)

Still, if you're looking for a game about an old police chief struggling to keep himself together and being forced to make uncomfortable decisions, this game is definitely for you. On a minor note, Jon St. John did a very good job voice-acting as Police Chief Jack Boyd.

I had to adjust my texture load settings to prevent crashes; the game only seems to crash if it was set to high. Once that was solved, I proceeded to enjoy one hell of a fun FPS full of fast, intense action and cool little secrets. A definite must-buy for anyone who likes first-person action. It even has good positive messages like:

+ Never make deals with demons!!!!
+ Don't be afraid to explore, you may find something rewarding
+ Hell devours the indolent; never be lazy and always keep moving

Oregon Trail + Fire Emblem + Norse still remains a potent formula. While the basics are still the same, there are new unit types, a Survival Mode of neverending battles, and other new stuff. I personally enjoyed the story too, and will happily buy the sequel once it comes.

Finished playing Read Only Memories.

Lame puzzles and bit of corny dialogue, but the story and characters are excellent.

Definite four out of five from me.
