Just a notice, if you are thinking of buying Portal 2 instead of/before buying Portal 1: Don't. You won't miss out on a tonne of elements of gameplay, but you will miss some intresting story. Anyways, let me begin now.

Portal 2 is an intresting and intriguing video game. The story of the game is remarkably good for a video game, and will drive you to keep playing towards the end. The end, isn't far, sadly. You can get there in under 10 hours, just like the original Portal. There is, unlike Portal 1, a "community test chamber" option which allows you to play through user-created maps. But, honestly, there isn't much incentive to go play community maps and many people will just stop playing after they finish the story.

But, that doesn't mean it's a bad game. If anything, it's one of the best games you can get on Steam, and a good introduction to gaming, if you're new. The story, whilst short, isn't something you'll be forgetting really quickly after you finish the game. Of course, the ending to the series might dissapoint some as it leaves many questions unanswered. It'd be great if Steam could give us maybe some DLC or, heck, even a comic or a book which would answer these questions.

The ending being bad, should still not drive you away from the game. There is much more to this game than story. The mechanics and puzzles are enjoyable and the way the puzzles integrate with the story is admirable. I'd recommend this game to most, if not all, people in a heart beat.
