I really, REALLY wanted to like this game, and I also don't like writing negative reviews, but the controls in this game are unbelievably infuriating; I kid you not I found this game much more frustrating than Getting Over It and other rage games that are actually designed to make you mad. The controls are very delayed, feel super stiff, and half the time will not even work; if some sort of key or button prompt is on screen and I press said key or button, it shouldn't be a 30% chance that it actually works. On top of that, even when you press a button and it actually registers, a lot of the time the game just ignores it anyway. The amount of times I lost to the first boss because I would press the dodge or block buttons only for them to A) not work at all or B) to work, do the full animation of me blocking or dodging, and then register me as having taken a hit anyway is countless.
On top of that, the game broke a lot; there were several times where the first boss wouldn't even load so i would have to kill myself in the menu which would then prevent me from spawning at the save before the boss, making me walk back to the boss from the previous save about 5 minutes away. It says I have 2.8 hrs but it's really closer to 8 or 9 because the game not only crashed several times, but BRICKED MY COMPUTER. I had to force shutdown my computer twice. My computer isn't the greatest, but I've never had a game do this before.
Even negating all of that, there were a lot of intentional design choices that just made the game not fun; like the fact that many enemies chain attacks, but when you're hit, it locks you out of the controls for a second, so half the time getting hit once just means dying. Also, there's a button to lock onto a target, but some attacks will switch to a cinematic angle that then UNLOCKS you AND faces you away so you can't even re-lock on. Also, a lot of the save points are placed right AFTER something new and difficult; that's perfectly normal, but they're so infrequent that I often had to retrace 10-20 minutes after running into a new enemy with attacks you've never seen before which, like I mentioned earlier, if you miss one, it locks you into a combo of attacks until you die.

If you ever plan on making a game, please please please remember that a game is nothing without good controls (unless it's text-based like a dating sim or that kind of thing).

What an absolutely astounding game. I keep feeling like it's surprised me with everything and it still keeps doing so. I genuinely cannot think of a single negative comment except that some battles seem practically impossible sometimes, but that's just what happens with some rogue-likes. Just a phenomenal game.

I really love the idea of this game, but the text is just so small. I had to look at a text box about 4 or 5 times before I realized what it said. If the text was made bigger and the game was given a zoom option, it would be fantastic.

Can't recommend this game enough. It's as retro as retro gets and still looks stunning in the process. Not only that, but even with a million sprites on every screen, it runs smoothly on my terrible laptop from 2006.

This game is a combination of all of my favorite genres by one of my favorite networks. It's a randomly generated retro wild west murder mystery by Adult Swim Games. There is not enough I can say about this game it is so good!
