DO NOT BUY

Bought this game during the 2014 holiday sale, booted it up and played a few races. The in-game coaches/mechanics are audibly telling me I should get the DLC to be able to use more cars, and even in the menu's, it's showing me cars I can only use if I buy the DLC. It's remarkable how in-your-face the DLC content is present, however walled from use. That's pretty shady, but curiosity gets the best of me and I check out the DLC. All of it is unavailable? It's been unavailable for more than a year with bold promise from the developers to fix it but not actually doing so?

Part of this is my fault, as a consumer, to not really research what I was buying. I bought a shell of a game, and the nut isn't even available to me. It's dangled on a string for me to see, but I can't have it. Straight up this is bad business practice from the developers. Being burned like this is a guarantee that I'll be avoiding Codemasters' games like they're the plague. If it comes up in conversation, I'll be advocating others to avoid Codemasters' games. I'll flat out refuse Codemasters' games if they're gifted to me or are free to play. I'm so thankful now that I only wasted a little bit of money on this, because that's what it was, a WASTE OF MONEY. I'm still really pissed off, but I really feel for anyone who pays full price to only get the same experience. Shame on Codemasters.
