I normally don't write reviews (or criticism to others), but I've been seeing a LOT of unfair reviews for this game, so here goes.

Many people have written bad reviews based solely on the partnership with Gameforge as a publisher, but giving a great game a bad review because of the publisher is rediculous.

Also, many people have complained that this game is a MOBA. That's also rediculous, because that is ONE game mode. Besides, it's very fun and hardly feels standard. Choosing which minions to send and structuring your defenses makes it feel more like a Tug of War.

I've also seen the complaint that it's pay to win. Yes and No. If hearthstone and league of legends is pay to win, then yes, you would also see this as pay to win. You start with a standard deck that once modified with a few cards, is really solid.
If the argument is that the grind is too high, then I disagree. Maybe it is too high for PvE (survival), but that is because there are Trap Tiers and consumerables. On the other hand for PvP (siege), after 30 or 40 hours you will have multiple layouts/decks. The prices are so low, that they are comparable to F2P shooter games that lend you the cards except, here you permanently get them.
They are still adjusting prices, they already wrote hero prices will be changed next patch. Besides, spending a few $/€/£ is perfectly okay, not every game feels that can use Dota 2's income model and get away with it.
There are currently some technical issues and the playbase is not high enough to instantly find games 5 AM on a weekday ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. However, I am not going to badly rate a very fun, solid, new, and original game low based on that.

TL;DR: It's free and fun.

Btw, they currently have a referral program that rewards players that sign up with one. About the same as 2 cheap heroes. If you know anybody that plays it then they have a link, you could create 2 accounts, or if all else fails you could use mine.
