I will fly to the moon in it.

A worthy FTL-clone.
Not because it desperately tries to set itself apart, but because it leaves everything that works unchanged,
while adding new content such as systems and having quality-of-life elements like oxygen refreshing between jumps.

The only two gripes i have with the game are:
The game takes surprisingly long to open.
And clicking on the map and then letting go of the click confirms a location if you happen to be on it.

One of the most polished games out there.
Every aspect of this game is at least good.

The gameplay is fun, rewarding and incredibly varied.
The standard difficulty curve is well-balanced.
After beating a run once, you unlock the options to make a run more difficult in a wide range of settings.
Increasing the difficulty by one point at a time, let's the bosses drop rare resources upon defeat.
That nudges the player to steadily improve their skill with each run.
On the other end of the difficulty spectrum, you have the option to enable a lore-friendly easy mode, that makes the player stronger with each death. (Not dropping death altogether, since it is an important part or the story.)

The story fits incredibly-well with the gameplay.
Both in terms of ludonarrative, aswell as the story taking a backseat to the gameplay.
Which is not to say that there is little story; There is a vast amount of dialogue, with a big cast of well-written and well-voiced characters.

It takes 100+ hours before dialogue starts repeating. READ THAT SENTENCE AGAIN

There is a ludicrous amount of writing and voice acting.
And it took me 150+ hours to trigger and accomplish all major and minor story events and gameplay challenges.

The art style is beautiful and full of little details. Both in terms of character and environmental design.
Since everything consists of sprites, the game would run on ancient hardware too.
The game never crashed and never even stuttered once.
There are no bugs (except for rare visual errors, like an object being in front of another, even though it should be the other way around and vice versa.)

The music during fights is action-packed and non-distracting or simply beautiful during story and dialogue.
The sound design services the gameplay, which is to say everything has clearly-defined audio queues, but not to the point where sounds are annoying. (Except for the reloading sound effect of your assault rifle...)

One of the things that make this game special, is that it is highly-reactive.
Simple gameplay decisions that you make are being commented on (in organic ways) by other characters.
To the point where you are just baffled that the developers even considered to focus attention on that detail.

This game is a brilliant jewel.
