"Do we have any ideas for this basically feature complete product?"
"Oh I know, let's make it literally unplayable."

For the record, I have not played the first game.
I really like this game, the gameplay is very well polished, has large variety and provides a surprisingly high skill ceiling. The guns are quite detailed, each one of them has a different set of quirks and characteristics, the zero point is different, the sight picture varies, the loading changes. Movement is also one big factor of the game, it feels fluid but not floaty, you stay dynamic and can reach a lot of areas that the developers probably didn't expect you to reach. Everything is accessible though, there are no invisible walls, the game in fact encourages you to explore, especially in the compound.
The themes are executed in a really good way. The storytelling is done really well and I ended up reading through all of the in-game lore with pleasure.
It all feels quite immersive too, when taking fall damage I usually catch myself expressing pain. The sound effect is quite... visceral.
The biggest gripe I have is with the ending of the game, which feels like a cop-out. But it's a really minor thing.

About time I review this thing.
I discovered this game through the Soundtrack, featuring one of my favourite artists. A friend saw my amazement and decided to gift me the game.
I ragequit after 2 hours, and I wrote him some seriously angry messages about how unfair and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the game was.
And I was playing on normal difficulty then.

Yeah, so I finished the game twice on the Furier difficulty and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ what a great game it was. Learning the exact controls and figuring out the enemy patterns was an intense and horrifyingly exhausting journey but I feel like it paid off. The credit screen changes after you play Furier and it presents you with a very fun message. The satisfaction you get from actually beating the odds is immense.

Some enemies are better, some are worse. The soundtrack is PERFECT. Good god.
10/10

The game plays more like a puzzle game in the way your weapons are more commonly used as utility for movement rather than actual weapons. There isn't much freedom in the way you kill your enemies, there isn't much strategy, the game simply places the appropriate weapon in front of the enemy you're supposed to kill and that's the route. It's a very simple game and it took me ~10 hours to get 100%.
The story is dreadful, horrible writing, horrible voice acting, terrible audio mixing, different voices have different volume levels, I think the devs gave up partway through because they realized the player will probably just skip everything with how horrible it's going. Side content is mostly worthless, dialogue brings nothing to the story, flashbacks deliver hardly any exposition. Honestly if the game has had most of its dialogue removed, without any changes whatsoever to the rest of the game, the game would have MORE value.
Soundtrack is fine, all of it is made by Machine Girl and it mixes into the gameplay very well, although level transitions break up the flow of the game quite considerably, which isn't very necessary since in level rush there are no level transitions at all and the next level loads instantly.
All in all the game is not bad. Unfortunately not bad doesn't mean that it's good. The execution is fine, there aren't any deal-breaking issues or major annoyances, but there's nothing specific that I can recommend.

Oh man, come on. Denuvo? Really?
It's a great game and I can wholeheartedly recommend it, the worldbuilding is great, the localization to Polish is excellent, the cutscenes are fantastic.

But Denuvo???

Very nice escape the room game. The controls are done very well and are fairly intuitive, you can set pretty much everything on fire, love it.
