Bring back multiplayer

enjoyable

I love the gameplay - so satisfying and smooth. Add retro graphics and music to it and you have a wonderful game.

Overall nice game, it may have too many same minigames but other than that really enjoyable.

After today's(02.06.2022) update, the previous problem with game not saving itself doesn't happen, at least for me. I replayed the game the exact same way and this time all of my progress was saved.

Now for the actual review of the game - overall graphic design is godlike in my opinion, music is okay but sometimes it stops for no reason and there is not enough variety. Plot at first seemed to be pretty okay but the further you played the more lackluster it became for example the moment how you reunite with your sister makes no sense whatsoever.

Sliding sections where you can control your's character's movement(water, mud, ice) are good but the other ones where you slide on vines etc. are terrible. The animations are very stiff, even when you lean you stand still and you can't jump off the vine when you already slide it.

99,99% of collectibles are well placed meaning they are hidden but not in a Crash Bandicoot 4 way where you have to hug every wall and make perfect 0.001s timings just to get it except for 1 crystal located in a frozen hub in water because you can't see it at all and 1 well which is named number 9 if I remember correctly but is actually located after number 10 which makes it confusing.

Two bugs which I would consider more serious are:
1. Hooks launching you in a random direction, meaning you fall into the void and have to start over a particular sections not from your fault.
2. Sometimes ground pound ability doesn't work until you restart the level meaning in sections where you have to use it to progress further you have to start over.

There is a lot of minor bugs like:
- when you destroy a chest other chests around get huge ragdoll and fall off the map
- random loud sounds especially when there are dialogs
- ghost ducats are bugged, when you start collecting them from not the one you were supposed to you can't collect them all
- in climbing sections you can't hold forward when you try to grab a ledge above you because when you do it you rub against the wall which makes you jump lower
- you can destroy certain vases only with one type of attack
- some textures of the world don't match the hitboxes meaning you float above the ground you were supposed to stand on

The final outfit is disappointing, they could make it so you can play as your sister or something.

The game is too short and lacks difficulty levels.

The fact that you only lose lives(portraits) after losing all of your hearts seems like a bad design because they have no meaning.

In conclusion the game is good, could be longer but it's certainly amazing to see Kao back and for sure I would love to see more, either as DLC or new game.

I bought the game immediately on release, spent 5,6 hours straight playing it and decided to call it a day. I switched off the game, then switched it on again just to make sure when I come back to it tomorrow I can continue just where I ended. My game decided that after 1,5 hours of playing it won't autosave anymore so just like that, 4 hours of progress lost. Can't recommend it until such issues are resolved, especially when you have no option to save the game manually, or have multiple save slots - just to remind you, the first game from 2000 has those features. Shame

I really recommend this game, especially for its price. Challenging and entertaining. I also loved the music. Movement and some hitboxes could be improved, but at the same time it may be those magical things which make this game so special. It would also be nice to be able to play the previous map from early access. Last thing, for the love of god please make audio slider for knight's groans. Thanks
