After playing for 2 weeks straight, I recommend the game so much I bought trading cards and completed the set multiple times to unlock badges (Rabbit -> Crow -> Wolf -> etc) and featured it on my profile. I just enjoy this game and recommend it so much that I wanted to show support for it. I've never done this with any of my other 1000+ games.

After 2 hrs in 'story mode' called Wintermute:
You chuck a rock at a bunny to stun it and pick it up to pet it (crunch). I die a little inside every time the hunger meter forces me to fetch more bunnies. Very pensive and atmospheric but dealing with hunger and the cold is very difficult. I think I use up about the same amount of calories as I get back from hunting rabbits and can't stockpile food very well. I must be doing something wrong. Excited to figure out how to survive better.
Score: 4/5

After first 2 hours in Survival mode:
If you die in survival mode, the game takes almost all of your items and put it in a backpack, then randomly places the backpack in the region (which can be huge or extremely vertical) that you died in. If your map isn't 100% revealed, you are basically screwed. This one thing deserves a downvote - its so punishing you might as well not let me respawn at all. What made it upsetting is how abrupt my death was. I slept in a car to hide from the blizzard outside and initially it looked like the car was warm enough, but I didn't wake up and froze to death in my sleep because the temperature dropped even more so the car was no longer warm enough. Death by transition screens feels bad.
Score: 1/5

After 60 hrs in Survival mode:
I figured out how to stay well fed, rested, warm, and hydrated. I hunt bunnies and birds with this sad twig bow, and snipe bears with this fancy rifle I found. I'm actually excited to explore the massive map in Survival now that I've figured out most of the mechanics. Now time to explore the world.
10/10

Final verdict: 10/10, you need to get over the small learning curve without rage quitting or getting impatient dying because you didn't plan ahead, to really enjoy the game. Most of the time with these "survival" games in the same genre, you get over the initial grueling hump and satisfy meters then run out of things to do or it gets too easy or monotonous. This game is much more slower pace than many of the other titles which stretches out the hump and keeps the game fun for a long time. After you are settled, there's plenty of exploration, scavenger hunts, collectibles, achievements, challenges, and skill issues like getting good at archery to keep survivors engaged and excited,
