This was a cute game!

Compliments
> It has a neat and interesting mechanic of swapping between the two main character stories, though I think it should have been more of a requirement to progress in the game--it only truly needed to happen at the end. It's neat! Make it more of a core part of the game! :)
> I really enjoyed the art style! It was fun to look at and neat imagery to interact with.
> The little easter-egg interactions were just delightful to discover. Many smiles throughout playing.

Feedback
> It would have been a nicer start if there had been a little onboarding...it was not immediately clear to me what I could/couldn't do/click on, so I almost stopped playing right in the beginning.
> There were a few moments where it was a lot of just running all the way to the other side of the map, and then running all the way back, which got a little tedious.
> There are some unclear moments, for example, when trying to give the right answers about Shea's past, and the helpful chart for keeping track of information popped up, I tried to click on it for 15 minutes to mark off things that I knew, and I thought that the game was having a glitch. I actually had to look it up online to discover that there was actually no way to click on it. Bit frustrating.

Final thoughts
Definitely a net-positive experience. I enjoyed the feel of the game (once I figured out what the rules were that I was playing by) and am glad that I stuck through the few frustrations I encountered. If you enjoy a game that is very story-driven with a cute and quirky cast of characters, this might be a game for you.

THUMBS WAY UP!!! I LOVE THIS GAME!

Really, a bang-up job! Well done, Larian Studios, you all should be very proud of this robust, immersive game. There are so many things to comment on here...where do I even start? The multi-directionality of choices and consequences in this sandbox world are immense and wonderful. (I would love to see the tree paths of dialogue/game events. Wowza!) I've already got multiple games going to experiment with those alone! Additionally, the variety and choice of character creation and modification is a delightfully unending combination of options that leads to a different experience of the game every time, even if (miraculously) you were able to choose all the same dialogue options. (And that's just one character...you can have up to 4! Talk about combinations...) I love that I can play this by myself and I love that I can play it with my friends. I've very happily spent a multitude of hours in this world, and I would do it again and again. I have played this all the way through to the end on my own, and have a number of other irons still in this fire. To Divinity, and beyond!

Bastion was an extremely enjoyable game! I have beaten it twice at this point, and loved it both times through. The dynamic of how the world appeared was really fun and interesting, and it was nice how you could customize your character in terms of weapon skills/combos and leveling up abilities. It was also a relief that you didn't have to master each type of weapon (got almost all 1st place in the weapon trials...just missing 2! Gah!) Really, the only constructive comment that I have is that the onboarding was a bit fast--it would have been a little nicer if we had a little more time to play around with each new thing as it was introduced. It was too many things for me too quickly, and I forgot what some of the buttons were by the time I was done with the tutorial-section. I eventually figured it out later, but I wasn't using that special ability for a good chunk of my first playthrough simply because I forgot what button it was. That said, I greatly enjoyed the game, and I look forward to exploring Score-Attack Mode. ;) Bravo, Supergiant Games!!

I have to admit that I'm a bit disappointed by The Room Two. (Which is sad because I loved the Room.) This sequel has a much more creepy vibe than the original game, which is fine. But the onboarding for how to play was lacking. There are some new mechanics in this version of the game, but the onboarding doesn't really show you enough of them. Though I was let down with that, I continued playing despite some truly unnecessary frustrations with what exactly I "could do" in a scene. As the game went on, so many of the scene/item/puzzle interactions were unclear, not well thought out, and even counter intuitive. I was unfortunately let down in each room. After playing The Room, I was excited that there were two more following it, but after playing The Room Two, I'm not sure I want to play the next one. :(

This was a very fun puzzle game! I greatly enjoyed playing through it. Well done, Fireproof Games! What a delight to figure out the mechanics of a myriad of box-puzzles and watch them animate open the more you unlock.

ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND!
Well done, Moon Studios! This game is fabulous! :) I have been playing it for 13 hours so far, but I was sold immediately. For one thing, the graphic style is absolutely breathtaking. The play of light in this game really sets the tone, and the little details (like dust motes, the way grass bends, etc.) really immerse you in a believably fantastic world. I LOVE IT. <3 I LOVE the zoom feature on the map--that transition is as seamless as the ones into cutscenes and back into gameplay. I could probably go on and on about this game (and maybe I will come back and edit this later), but it's almost 2am and I should get some sleep. O.o

One small note for the developers: sometimes, when fighting multiple enemies, it is hard to tell the difference between bonuses (like exp) flying at your character and enemy attacks. I have run from my own rewards a few times and gotten hit by enemy fire because I thought it was a goodie. #notallmonsters

I really love the idea of these types of games--telling a story, making choices that change future scenarios, following your gut and seeing the results of those decisions. But his game, for me, fell flat. :-\ I played for about an hour. My running theme for why I didn't really care for this game is that I didn't feel invested in it. Following are the three main issues I had with my experience:

My first issue with the game is that it's difficult to play from the perspective of two diferent characters when you don't know what either of their motivations are. I'm not sure how to play them, without really knowing what their goals are. It means that I can't invest as much in them as characters, and that means that the choices I make don't mean as much. Part of what is fun when you play a character is that they might be different than you, so you make the choices they would make (as opposed to the ones you would make) and get to see the outcomes of that. As an example, maybe I'm pretty level-headed, but I'm playing a character with a bit of a temper. So when an NPC throws an insult at me, I would have just let it slide, but the character would have exploded back. I felt like I didn't really know too much about the characters I was playing, so it was hard to try to get into their headspace. Took away from my experience to play two different people both kind of just as myself.

My second issue with the game is that the switches between when I am playing these two characters are unclear. They both write in the same journal in the same font. I only noticed later that the small amount of BG that shows behind the paper changes. That's not really enough to make it extremely obvious. A change of font and color in the text would have been a small detail that would have gone a long way to me realizing that now it's actually the other character writing, suddenly.

My third issue with the game is that the illusion of player choice (which is, of course, a good tool for designers of these types of games to use!) was not much of an illusion. There were a number of times where I picked an option, but the response was clearly "intended" for one of the other (very different) choices, and didn't really make sense with the option that I had chosen. Really made me feel like it didn't matter that I tried to go in a certain direction--I got bullied into the option they wanted. Again, makes me feel less invested since it's going to go the way it wants no matter what I pick, but on top of that, it doesn't even FEEL like I chose where we were going with it.

So while I enjoy these types of games, I don't recommend this particular one. For me, it was just too hard to get invested in it, so it became less fun. After an hour of playing, I unfortunately didn't really care about either of my player characters. (I really wanted to!)

Major kudos, though, for player diversity. Thanks for not making another game with white male PCs. A+

Hopefully this review sheds a little light for the developers on some aspects of the game that perhaps they did not focus on. It's a lot of work to make a game and it is difficult to keep an eye on everything and it is really easy to get sucked into certain elements that leave you blinded to other things. Congratulations to your whole team for putting a completed game out there! :) Kudos!

This game is absolutely delightful! My only qualm with it is that there's no onboarding in any way..and some of the actions are not intuitive (likie using your axe/pickaxe/hoe to pick up items that you can't just pick up and relocate with your hands..like scarecrows) so a little guidance there would have been nice. Otherwise, this game is so on point. The music is great, the graphics are good, the story is fascinating, and you can really take the game in a lot of directions. Well done, Concerned Ape!
