after playing this game for 200 hours, i highly recommend it. its an absolute gem, even if it may not seem like it at first. a lot of people thought the same thing at first, "how fun can a game where you just drive a truck, and there are no races or anything?"

when you actually try it, you'll love it. that is what happened to my friend, he had the same mentality before he tried it. when he tried it, he said that he actually likes the game and will certainly play it again.

now, even though its much better than you think, remember that 99% of the gameplay is driving. im not exaggerating, you really dont do anything else than drive. so keep that in mind.

what i recommend doing, is shutting off route advisor and the dashboard gps and just use voice navigation (or if youre real hardcore, only look at the street signs). that will assure you the best experience. also, for the love of god, please dont use the keyboard. at least mouse steering, but try getting a controller or even a cheap wheel (i paid $50 for a wheel 4 years ago and it still works perfectly). the game is much better with analog controls.

You also have DLCs. at the moment, the DLCs are: going east, scandinavia, beyond the baltic sea, road to the black sea, italia, vive la france and the upcoming iberia dlc.
If you dont know what you wanna get, get them in this order: going east - road to the black sea - scandinavia - baltic sea - italia - france.

road to the black sea and scandinavia look wonderful and theyre the best ones (if youre wondering why i also put going east there its because if you want to get over to, lets say, romania you cant without going east. you need to have a road to get there).

also, the DLCs dont cost that much, all of them are $5 on sale except black sea which is $8 (as of 10.02.2021)

BUT, there is even more:
Welcome to the multiplayer zone!

this game actually has multiplayer. while its not official, its a mod called truckersmp and you can play with your friends. its literally the singleplayer game but with real people. thats all.
you may also want to setup trucksbook to make a VTC (virtual trucking company) in order to play the exact same offer with all your friends.

this game has a ton of mods. and i really mean a ton. you can have truck mods, trailer mods, graphic mods, map mods, and much more. i highly recommend getting an accesory mod as its way cooler

also definetly check out promods if you have all 6 map DLCs, its a way bigger map with more countries and far better than the original.

aight, the gameplay is good, but what about other important things?
- graphics. this is where its pretty bad. the vegetation is awful, and the far trees are just four 2D textures. but other than that, its not bad, but there can absolutely be an upgrade.
- AI. the ai is not bad, but in places like roundabouts you can clearly see that it massively struggles.

and i dont really think there is much else to it. its a great game, with some quirks as it isnt brand new, as its from 2012.

TL;DR: you drive truck. 9/10
