where the ♥♥♥♥ do i even begin with this one. just an incredibly boring slog of fetch quests with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ context, and not only that, but it's super broken even in a bethesda game context. there were at least two times where i had to input console commands in order to get a quest moving, and that's really bad. no one should have to pay money for fixing something so dull.

joining a raiders gang should not be a level 30 quest, that kind of ♥♥♥♥ should be at the beginning of the game, sort of like a complete moral opposite of the minutemen. it's not a bad idea, in fallout new vegas, the courier was able to join caesar's legion and even help out the great khans from time to time, both groups being some rather unpleasant folks that carried understandable motivations. RPGs like fallout are about working your way up, meeting the top dogs of the wasteland, answering the dangerous questions that represent all the suffering and cruel upbringings that brought you here. it does not make any shred of sense for a level 30 sole survivor to just chug their relationships and beliefs out the window to go join a shallow alliance of raiders and attack all the settlements you spent a ton of time building.

if these raiders had a code, or were after a specific target, or really had any proper characteristics outside of "these are the furries, they dress like animals and have animalistic tendancies rawr :3" then this wouldn't be a problem. again, fallout new vegas didn't let you explore the legion until you were half way through, but they had a clear advantage compared to everyone else in the mojave wasteland, along with a very interesting philosophy to their fascist ideology that would want you to explore how it works. other than conquering ♥♥♥♥♥♥ settlements, these raiders do not have any far reaching goals, so you probably won't either.

the quests themselves are very tedious. some people on here have pointed out how a lot of the DLC's content won't happen unless you side with nuka world's raiders. a lot of this is going into each park, killing all the bad guys that live there, and planting a flag like a post-apocalyptic christopher columbus. hooray. after that, the game wants you to venture into the commonwealth and capture all the settlements you build. really this just comes off as a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ correction for any loser nerds that whined about settlements on reddit, how you can now conquer the settlements you were giving. though in their defense, you get to make preston garvey hate you, and that's always worth checking out.

with uninspired quests covering most of your playtime that are just outright broken, along with an uninspired narrative that feels rushed, you have a pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ DLC that isn't very fun.
