Witches, sisterhood, tarot, and dirty jokes... right up my ally. Maybe could have done without the politics, because oh boy is brain fried, but it's relevant -- I mean it's almost voting time in the US too. There was even a line about keeping politics out of games that made me smile, and a few other lines Americans will probably notice from current media and the political scene. The story overall revolves around collectivism and individualism, with a mix of fate vs choice.

Really good game overall. If you've played any of this publisher's other games, might catch an Easter egg too. The art is gorgeous. If I have one criticism, it's that I wish I could revisit individual chapters, rather than having to start the game over in it's entirety for different endings and achievements. I wouldn't mind eventually playing it again though, but it will probably be some time in the future.

I think this is the prettiest little game I've played in a while. Need the full game ASAP because I was invested in the story.

This is what a visual novel should be. So many twists and turns, and most of your choices make a difference to the outcome. Unraveling what's really going on doesn't feel like a chore and you're left thoughtful. You have one theory and then it'll be dashed. If you're familiar with genres like Utena or Evangelion, it's not the same kind of stories, but the same kind of storytelling -- very much a think piece where replaying garners more answers, but different people will have their own ideas about what such and such meant. Looking forward to playing more.

Edit: I nominated this one for a few categories, but most outstanding story it definitely deserves!

I loved this game! The exploration and map makes it, but it's wholesome and just good for a relaxing evening.

This little game is addictive! But of course it has a time limit... Unless you want to "time jump," though I'm going to play it as intended for now. Anyway, if you've ever wanted Animal Crossing for Steam, this is a good one for that fix. Some what fills the void which Stardew has left me as well.

Edit: Well, playing as intended didn't last very long, lol....

I absolutely adored finally getting to play this masterpiece. It really reminded me of why I fell in love with gaming too -- just spending hours exploring and trying to find every nook and cranny. Not worrying about min-maxing as I generally do in many modern games. However I do want to go back at some point and find everything I missed. The completionist in many isn't satisfied quite yet, but I like that because it'll just be more play time.

As far as the story goes, I really enjoyed it, though the last 2 chapters threw me for a loop and did leave me a bit disturbed, as good horror should do. Just truly wasn't expecting it, and I don't think I'd recommend this game to someone who gets triggered easily. The creepy themed ambiance of each chapter and even map set amplifies it. It all works really well together without being over done.

The combat mechanics are pretty nice, especially for the time this game was made. Each weapon has a few uses. Upgrading isn't hard, just might take a bit of patience. Enemies can be repetitive but each type has their own battle style so I found it a lot of fun. You can also choose how hard you want them to be with easy, normal, hard, and nightmare modes. Just remember you can't change it after.

There was a few bugs here and there. I crashed on loading a few times which took me looking up threads in order to mess with the settings so that would stop. The character also got stuck in certain spots. So be warned you might have to do a little maintenance to make it work as best as it can, but again this is a pretty aged game so it's par for the course. I'd also recommend checking out how to get American McGee's version, where you get extra dresses and the original Alice game. There's a guide here on Steam.

Overall 7/10, just because bugs which take a little work, and while I appreciate the storyline, I can't say I liked the last 2 chapters of it. Really looking forward to the new game once it's released.

Early Access Review
I'm a long time fan of paranormal caca and shows like Ghost Adventures. If you are too, you'll like it. Even if you're not, screaming and dying with your significant other is goals.

About to change my name to Anita Bagans (i.e. Zak), but if I play with randoms that... might not be the best choice... of a pun... The hubs should be Aaron.

If you liked Missed Messages, you'll probably appreciate this. The art reminds me of story books I use to read in the 90's, and the music is a lovely little lo-fi tune. I won't say much else since the actual story is pretty short, and that would really just give it away. You will need to look at a guide to get the last two endings though, but it's not necessary once you get the "good" ending. Just do it if you want to.
