Fun game, too easily softlocked. Please replenish the fish after some time!

Let's be real, we all had low expectations of this game. Somehow, I was still disappointed.

Sluggish movement, everything is jarringly slow. Grenades go about 10 meters if that, reloading takes a good 10 seconds because of the arbitrary animation length, hackers EVERYWHERE even in a just-released beta. I could go on.

Pros:
  • WWII style, back to the good old days of "boots on the ground"
  • Neat UI.
That's it.

Cons:
  • Hackers, with terrible anticheat system. Sledgehammer, please fix. Or don't. You don't listen to the community anyways so you won't be reading this.
  • Movement is awful, slow, unresponsive.
  • Defaults at 720p for even the best systems, obvious console port.
  • Terrible optimisation. PC port is obviously a back burner project.
  • Political correctness giving women the roles of soldiers, black Nazis, censoring the Nazi swastika with the Iron Cross.
  • Completely disrespectful towards the millions of people who died during this war.
  • Weapons feel like foam darts, taking half a magazine to kill someone when they're FIREARMS and in real life can kill with a single bullet.
  • Another reskin of an existing CoD game, the same game they've been marketing for years with just a new story and the same unbalanced and awful multiplayer.
  • Complete disregard of history and sacrifice by millions of soldiers in countries around the world, on both sides of the war, to favor modern day political correctness by introducing soldiers of genders and races that simply were not present in that era. Women today are only just being introduced to the battlefield, and there were certainly not african soldiers in the German army.

Overall, a complete 0/10. My hard drive space is worth more than this game.

Great game, brings back some old memories of AddictingGames, but it's so poorly optimised.

I've got a decent system and I can handle AAA titles, but this thing just lags to pieces.

Early Access Review
Pros:

- Different than the shovelware that floods Steam.
- Actually pretty nice system, albeit low on features.
- No micromanaging present in most other simulators. Relaxing.

Cons:

- Not as many features as could be possible in the future. Again, it's Early Access and I hope more stuff gets added.
- No options system, cannot adjust resolution or game settings. Not that it matters, since you can run this game on a microwave.
- No fullscreen windowed option.
- LOCKED AT 30 FPS.

Possible bugs:

- Science module can't be adjusted after setting research. Maybe intentional, maybe not.
- Scientist "people" disappear after the first night.
- Money doesn't actually update, making it impossible to actually get money in Career mode.
- For some reason the communication module doesn't show up on Creative mode.
- NO POWER icon shows up even with proper power. Doesn't charge the power banks.

Other noteworthy items:

- Low on features, not many modules. I blame Early Access.
- Nothing really risk causing besides research failures and loans. As long as you make enough to net a profit you can play the waiting game to increase your station size.
- Zooming out is with right click + scroll, which is pretty weird.
- Zooming out makes the stars scale out making the pattern very visible. I actually thought it was a grid system until I realized it was just the really big stars showing with the smaller ones disappearing. I'd recommend making a really really big star texture and repeating it less.
- There's a LOT of space to build a big station, assuming you can actually make it.
- I don't believe there's a way to deconstruct a module for better layout later on.

Overall: 3/10. Score will increase as more stuff gets added and more replayability. I'll mark it recommended because lots of work went into this.

Feels exactly like that awesome Flash game I used to play.
11/10

Noteable bugs:
When it's your turn, if you're chatting and press enter to send the chat, it will fire. That sucks.
Daily claim bonus did not work :/

Otherwise fabulous game.

I really really like Starmade. It's like Minecraft- but in space. If you've ever played Minecraft with the Carpenter's Blocks mod, the one that adds all the weird angles and awesome stuff, you'll like this. While content is a little lacking, it makes up for it with spunk.

Pros:
Easy to learn how to play and fun to work with.
Ship design is very flexible.
If you're good at Minecraft or Roblox, you're gonna have an easy time playing this.

Neutrals:
Scrolling through your hotbar is reverse that of Minecraft/Roblox. Takes a little getting used to.
Can't remove items from Creative inventory. (Unless I'm just missing something obvious.)
Not toaster computer friendly, it renders AI ships that are outside of the player's range and FOV. (Please fix, devs.)

Cons:
Needs a sort of beefy computer to run.
Pirates are really hard even on easy setting.
Needs a really beefy computer to run smoothly.

Overall, 6.5/10
Since it's early access, I assume/hope they'll fix some of the player issues and hopefully provide some support for toaster users.

My specs. (Provided by Speccy.) I get around 120 FPS with the settings cranked.

Pros:
Fleets are larger, ships are stronger, resources have more variety
Custom races are more customizable, new music sounds beautiful, ships don't randomly deselect like they did in GalCiv2
Cons:
Still a little buggy, when I hit "Destroy Planet" it crashed my game.
The United Planets interface runs off the edge of my screen so I can't see some of the races
When not using a 1080p monitor some of the GUI overlaps

9.5/10
Beautiful work, guys.
