Really really love this DLC. It is A LOT of fun!!

It is kinda broken in an 'easy mode' kind of sense...but it is GREAT fun. I hope it gets tuned down a bit.

And I can't wait for the mods to catch up with landless play, AGOT, elder kings, etc. is going to be insanely fun with this type of gameplay!!

Crusader Kings 3 took me a couple of tries to 'get'. Despite being interested, it can be very daunting. But after 'getting it' - oh boy do I get it.

Amazing game, tells amazing stories. I just got my first DLCs and haven't even touched modding yet, but I can't wait to try those soon too!

I mean what else can I say. Bullethell with ffxiv raid mechanics with up to 4 players. Simple classes and rotations with roguelike mechanics to add a ton of ability upgrades, gear, leading to some cool build variety

Honestly my only gripe is that a lot of the items slow movement speed lol

Wanted to edit my review now that I'm ~30 hours into my first play through.

I love the game play. It fits my preferences perfectly. I'm a game master who runs games that are open world hex crawls - needless to say travel is a big part of my campaigns. The travel in DD2, especially early game - is dangerous and exciting. The quick travel options you slowly unlock are limited to certain points - traveling by cart from settlement to settlement, and limited teleport to specific locations - just feels good. Do I want to use this teleport and save a bunch of time, journey back, etc. Planning your inventory, and the inventory of your pawns, is part of the intended experience and personally, its just what I like.

The story is pretty bad. The main NPCs are fine but they just don't really matter that much. The writing of the story is pretty bad too, like some real high school stuff if I'm being honest. Its a shame, but I don't think thats the focus from the developers side.

The world however is much more interesting. This is a video game about details, and this game has a lot of it.

While I played Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen I was not as into it as I am with DD2 so I can't make any specific comparisons. That being said, from what I've read from bigger fans of the original game the step up from 1 -> 2 isn't what they we're hoping for. I encourage you to go read some reddit threads if you're curious for more.

I've had one crash and experienced some minor bugs, but nothing too crazy personally.

Performance is unacceptable. 3080 with a 5900X - not top of the line obviously but by no means bad..cant hold 60 FPS in open world depending on the location/situation, and cities forget about it LOL more like 30-50. I understand that this is a brand new AAA game and my hardware isn't top of the line anymore: I was never expecting 120fps maxed out settings. But a constant 60 in 2024? That should be the bare minimum. And the frame drops - gosh the frame drops are so horrible in the city. What makes it even more frustrating is that clearly all the NPC load bogs down performance, but the NPC popup is still insanely bad. Like what are they even doing?? It may seriously be better for me to lock the fps at 40 and just be done with it until a performance patch thats supposedly coming.

All of the micro transactions confuse me. Everything there you can get in game and its not really that hard or time consuming - I don't know why they would even bother adding them. I mean - ok I do - because some suit is greedy over at capcom - but its just weird and out of place. Just ignore them don't let them win.

Despite me personally having fun, with the massive performance issues I can't give this game a recommendation until they are fixed. Proceed with caution. Look at some benchmarks on youtube with your hardware, and see if the performance is acceptable enough for you.

This is one of my favorite game genres - a genre I personally call "POB" 'player on board' games due to my time playing star wars galaxies. And this is my favorite game in the genre.

When the whole team is working together in tandem with the captains commands its just beautiful. Love the ship variety, loadouts options are interesting enough..The melee combat is pretty basic..bad ill even say if im being honest, but its good enough for the illusion of the game.

Theres a certain joy that comes from games like this..Due to dedicated community servers you can become a regular, learn the familiar faces, and know whose a good captain and who to play with. I miss dedicated servers in games for this reason.

This game is quite literally abandon ware, which makes me sad because it is so great..but now that it is free I have hope the community can grow and thrive again.

I really like Last Epoch. Its the perfect middle ground for me for character customization. Diablo has turned too simple for my taste, and while PoE looks amazing its just too much for me. Last Epoch is the goldilocks zone for me personally. I like the multiple passive trees, every skill gets a skill tree, the crafting is interesting enough while still being understandable. One of my favorite systems is the idol system - its like inventory management with stats. Love this mechanic in games, glad to see it in an arpg.

The zones are interesting enough. I can't really comment on the story at all because I just didn't engage in it at all. The bosses I've fought so far have been fun.

The launch, connection wise, was horrible I can't deny that. All of the negative reviews are 100% justified it really was that bad. That being said, once it started working for me it was great, more than acceptably smooth, and multiplayer with my friend was pretty fun.

Now that the network issues have started to settle down this is definitely worth your look, and if you're even remotely interested it'll probably be worth your time and money.

Early Access Review
Less than 5 hours in and I can already see the depth this game provides..wow I am impressed right from the start!

The gridless building, citizen made paths, interesting supply chains, citizen needs, etc. all layer with each other very well.

A relatively simple colony sim to get going and have something functional, but I can tell its going to take some time to really get an efficient and well running town going!
