This game while really cool in concept, falls flat from a frustrating gameplay loop that leaves me wishing a different route was taken when designing the levels and enemies, particularly boss battles.
Gunplay and traversal is smooth but the enemies just aren't fun to fight against. Fights are wildly unpredictable as enemies spawn at an insane rate. Boss fights seem awesome at first but just aren't fair due to the random bullet-hell nature of all of them. Dozens of turrets firing at you from seemingly everywhere while trying to destroy the weakpoints just left me mad. Beating a boss didn't feel satisfying, it felt like complete RNG.
This game deserves praise for the fun ideas and mixing of cool mechanics from existing successful IPs, I wouldn't recommend the game due to the game just not being fun IMO.

Genki is the GOAT of street racing games, if you're a JDM nerd there's a lot to appreciate. This game strikes a great balance of realism and arcade physics, easy to learn but tough to master. If you like fine tuning your cosmetics this game excels as well.

Overall game goes hard, can't wait for a full release. Respect to Genki for creating and self publishing this game after an 18 year hiatus. Buy it full price to show love to the devs <3 its worth it!

Full playthrough on 2.12 and its still one of the buggiest games I've ever played. That being said its still amazing, buy the ultimate edition on sale.

Super cool and satisfying game with a brilliant retro style that had me hooked. The music bangs, the movement is fluid, the protagonist is cute. The game is short and sweet but packs a punch, once you master the mechanics its a blast and you wont wanna put it down.
My only complaint is the game still feels a bit rough in areas, particularly the UI and map could be better, otherwise very solid and achieves what it needs to to be a competent and fun experience.
For the price its a knockout, pick it up if it interests you in the slightest.
