Needs A LOT more work to veer away from being an asset flip. From the UI to basic quality of life. The horrible implementation of the ALS system also shows, the animations don't blend well and need refining.

Looks amazing, feels fresh but needs a lot of technical work to be playable.

Movement is clunky, you get stuck into everything, rocks, debris, even flat ground has odd collisions that gets you stuck and killed. The different movement speed between walking forward and sideways feels off, I understand the sprint forward goes faster thing but when walking it just feels bad.

Movement and stealth systems are not fleshed out enough for such an oppressive environment. Being able to prone, execute unaware enemies or even dropping your rig to fight then pick it back up later (Akin to Outwards), would be amazing additions.

The enemy perception is a bit inconsistent, sometimes they don't see you 2 meters away from their faces, sometimes they spot you instantly.

My verdict is that they need to focus on the core of the game before the looks, get the anim BPs working fluidly, get the interactions to be more consistent, fix the collisions on the terrain. A game is mainly held up by its game-play first, graphics and atmosphere second.

Hope this develops into the great game it is aimed to be, but for now I cannot recommend it.

PS.: After playing some more I've more suggestion that could help fix the gameplay issues;
- Alternative paths, the level design is too linear and it is especially noticeable in the closed quarters maps, you have 1 or 2 options to reach another area and both options are usually filled with enemies. Add vents, secret passages or at least better stealth mechanics.
- Contested extractions, just silly, your only way out is being camped by things that you cannot kill or evade in numbers you cannot get rid off. At least one extraction point should always be safe, especially in a game with no pause, I can't just sit there all day and wait for an enemy spawn to wander nearby them.
- Hunter Killer, this one could work but the threshold for triggering it is stupid low, an enemy that always knows where you are and never stops is just too much, not fun at all.

In essence I'd recommend this game to take a lesson from Kenshi, it is a hard game but it gives you things to do for when you are still weak, in this one all we can do is "sneak" and hope for the best but the stealth system is just crouching and the only noise source we have is our guns, can't even throw a rock somewhere to distract patrols. The ttk discrepancy between the weakest enemies and yourself is also crazy, everything is so much stronger then you and in larger numbers, definitely needs some balancing. (I came into this aware it was supposed to be a hard game, but this is just not fun, I've hundreds of hours on Kenshi, Elden Ring and Souls Games, this is not hard, is just unfinished.)

Could hire a new UX specialist for the UI flow but the game is a great game apart from that. Great atmosphere, amazing gunplay and smooth progression. Keeps you excited to unlock new things and frustrates you just enough upon death to make an impact.

Promising game, but has some big flaws.

The good things are :
- Interesting and innovative game-play.
- Gorgeous style.
- Crazy-Good level design.
- Smooth and well made animations (Really really well made).
- Long arms.

The bad things :

- Needs a lot of work on the accessibility side (Colorblind settings, FOV settings, Options to reduce camera effects and shakes as well as remove the auto-camera pan).
- The lighting and color palette is too cinematic (yes there is such a thing), the team should focus a bit more on play-ability, very hard to see and promotes a lot of eye-strain. (Maybe add more image options, the brightness setting in the game doesn't really help to see better)
- Skill descriptions, we only see a quick description of it on the weapon panel, but some of them are a bit obscure and vague, like the health to "mana" mage exchange skill.
- Lack of keybinding options.
- Long arms. (Not sure how to feel about them, fits the style but makes characters look like chimps)

Overall it has a rough feel and makes me reduce my play-sessions length because of the eye strain and accessibility issues, but the entire time I am on it, I have fun and feel immersed, great game, just missing some polishing.

I'd like to start by saying I am fan of the series, love this game, love DD1 and DD:DA.

The level design, game-play, story, immersive-world and all of the trademark features from Dragon's Dogma are here and it feels great to have another entry to this title after such a long time.

Yes I am leaving a negative review, although the game is immensely fun, the technical problems aren't and for a price-tag like this one they shouldn't be here, the game is overly reliant on CPU, to a degree I've never seen before on a game of this size, not sure what is going on with the handling of the NPCs data but it needs a refactor asap. And to add to the CPU load, Capcom decided to add Denuvo as the DRM of choice, a software known for clogging the CPU and ram.

Hopefully their team manages to get the NPC issue under control on PC, and that they drop the DRM after the game has been cracked.

This game is already a masterpiece, they just need to fix some dents out.

Edit: Switched to positive even with the performance issues, I just cannot in my right mind not recommend this masterpiece of storytelling! I'd play it even with 10 fps if I had to.

Won't lie, rough launch, but this does not detract from the game, amazing evolution. The 1.0 patch is a solid step-up for the devs and the improvements definitely push this game towards the AAAA standard we seem to require nowadays.

Really fun game, lots of possibilities, great community and amazing devs that care about their creation!

Rare find in modern games. Highly recommend!

Strong multiplayer, weak singleplayer.

The movement, combat and general polish of the game systems are much improved compared to the previous arma entries, but it has less to play with, the single player campaign isn't even close to what arma 2 and 3 had to offer, no friendly AI, no progression, no story-line.

Despite all the progress on the feel and QOL for the game, server are barely populated on WW2 servers, most of the populated servers are modded to the brim with modern mods, deafeating the purpose of playing a WW2 game.

A great game on the gameplay and systems side and a big "meh" on content side.
