the game is fun

seasons are effectively a sub fee, expansions are yearly expansions..... just like any MMO

shooting feels good! pve or pvp the game's mechanics always feel wonderful. story is compelling but can be difficult to break into as a newer player, but external resources exist to read and catch up if you care about that sort of thing. it's bungie and their storytelling is fantastic if often distracted.

generally, as mentioned before, my largest criticism of this game would be that it just isn't very beginner friendly. they made a notable push towards entrenched player retention over new player draw and it shows. you will, more than likely, need to play with entrenched players to make heads or tails of things. If you play MMOs often, that won't be a shock. find a group of folks you like, clan or discord or whatever, and just learn as you go.
