Opening:
These are opinions I wrote down while playing. My performance is based on a 4090 and a 7800X3D at 1440p resolution. No mods or tweaks were used.

Good:
  • Port quality is excellent.
  • Graphics look great.
  • Framerate stayed above 120 FPS at max settings with DLSS set to Quality and frame generation disabled.
  • Supports DLSS and Frame Generation.
  • Supports FSR.
  • The game has a ton of adjustable accessibility options.
  • Thank god you can rebind Grapple and Glide to different buttons.
  • The soundtrack is pretty pleasant to listen to.
  • Pretty much every complaint I had about the first game has been addressed.
  • I really enjoyed the world and the story.

Neutral:
  • I wish I could track all upgrade materials I need rather than just one at a time.
  • I did not enjoy the Machine Strike minigame.

Bad:
  • Exploration is very limited before unlocking additional tools through the main story quests.
  • Aloy comments way too much on how to solve puzzles before you're even given a chance to look around.
  • Sometimes quest NPCs bug out and I can't talk to them.
  • Hitboxes are janky and projectiles sometimes go through enemies without dealing damage.
  • The 'auto shieldwing' option doesn't work. I just fall to my death with it enabled.
  • If I hear "you said/mentioned" one more time-
  • Sometimes broken machine parts fall through the ground. You can see them inside the ground with the Focus, and there's no way to reach them.
