"I LOVE YOU AND I WILL ALWAYS BE WITH YOU. – MOM"

It's been quite some time since I've been totally blown away by a game, story-wise. And usually it has fallen down into the hands of this franchise, because last time I checked, it was Far Cry 3 that blew me away 7 years ago. It was fascinating how in some kind of a twisted way it (the story) was relatable to the player, considering the fact that it was about killing pirates and hunting wild animals on a tropical island.

What I find fascinating about the story of FC4 is not that it's relatable, because I believe it isn't, at least not in the same sense as FC3, but how deep it was. By "deep" I don't mean deep in terms of philosophy, or complexity. I can't wrap my head around how the story closely resembled real life and how things in the world usually works. How blind we usually are, when we follow our beliefs, how different the end result typically is in comparision with the initial idea, how things turns out completely different than the things we stood for in the beginning, how powerless we are in the grand scale of everything, how we think we can change something, and we thought we changed something, changed something for good, but in the end it ends up same or usually worse, how we trust those who feed us lies, but can't trust those who tell us the truths, how our own personal biases and perceptions can skew the reality and how we can't distinguish the bad from the good and the good from the bad because of those two, how hypocrisy, deception and lies rule the world and rules us, whether we want to admit it or not.

You can learn a lot from this game. I certainly has. But to "experience" it all, you have to go through it without rushing and with an open mind, read every letter, every journal, listen to all of the dialogues and put it all together. Only after that you'll find the real value that Far Cry 4 possess.

I also wrote this primarily for myself, as the story is stuck in my head heavily and I'm hoping that writing this and getting it off will put me at ease and soon will be gone.
