Path of Exile is getting better years after years. New content, new gameplay, balancing allowing to bring old unplayed skills to life. Heck, even the graphics have improved ;) 2 thousands hours of playtime and still counting ;)
The main argument is "free game with no pay to win content" (except maybe for some stash inventory space), so there is really no reason to not at least give it a try. The most difficult is the learning curve : the beginning can be "a little" overwhelming, following a guide for your first character is advised. But with experience comes knowledge, and every piece of the puzzle will fall into place. That is, until the next extension that happens every 3-4 months ;)
