Other reviews do justice to the DLC as a whole. I play Loader. I was beyond disappointed at the new skin for Loader. There are no new abilities for existing characters, no exception for Loader. The hidden realms (normal stages exempt) have excruciating out-of-bounds restrictions that consistently interrupt my Loader Gameplay™. If I was ever going to start playing another survivor as much as Loader it sure as hell will not be Zenyatta from Overwatch, wheelchair microwave, or the False Son (somebodies OC). I mopped the floor with the challenges and swept the new characters out of the way. I was hoping that this was going to reignite my desire to play the game and swing around as Loader. Five hours of raw eclipse Loader Gameplay™ later and I have run out of new things to pick up, enemies to punch, and places to explore.

Just lost an hour long run because the Silvershades damage can target you directly and there is nothing stopping Leviafin from spamming them and creatures that create them. I love this game so so much but that last run I had literally raised my blood pressure for the rest of my life. I hear the Silvershade blast sound effect in my walls and I'm taking two damage every time.

TL;DR: The Monster Hunter titles do it better in almost every way.
(-) The incredibly low selection of weapons are riddled with gimmicks, shallow features, and they all feel unwieldy.
(-) There are only eight weapons, three of which you wont have access to until you've exhausted resources on building some of the other five.
(-) All melee weapon attacks move you out of position for combos and follow up moves. In all of the speed-runs I've seen of the game so far, they spam the buildings that deal damage because it's far more reliable.
(-) The movement is appalling. The game must know exactly what you want to do because it does the opposite every time.
(-) All the minor foliage is solid, which makes navigating the forest a nightmare.
(-) Every ledge, wall, and bounce pad is a black hole that will suck you in from a mile away.
(-) The building system is over utilized when it comes to camps. Setting up camp is not a fun chore.
(-) Minor buildings can be destroyed during a fight and the utility they offer is very low.
(-) If there are invincibility frames in this game, I have never found them.
(-) Monster designs felt too similar, which is unfortunately central to the lore of the game.
(-) You do not have enough resources to make fusion buildings consistently and the bulwark doesn't "wark" if it's not the specific telegraphed attack it is supposed to "wark" with.

(+) The building system is unique and I liked the concept of fusion buildings.
(+) The areas were beautiful and I found myself returning to some spots just to admire the scenery.
(+) Gathering, crafting, and hunting small monsters is just as fun as other titles of the genre.
(+) You can sneak up on and pet small monsters for different loot.

In conclusion, it feels like a Monster Hunter game made by fans of the series who had a few great ideas, a whole lot of questionable ones, and just enough that were horrendously ruinous. If you have the money to buy this game, get Monster Hunter World (or even Rise). If you are planning on saving up money to get this game, try Dauntless first. Dauntless has similar issues and looks worse but instead of costing 70usd it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ FREE.

Delivers on no fronts. The selling point of this game is the writing at it's core. The personalities of the characters and the story it tries to tell falls abysmally short of what is required from a dating simulator. This game is a gimmick, a ten dollar joke, and I would only say that this game is worth having in your library to let other people know you are a degenerate if not the lack of actual degenerate substance this game contains. It did not scare me, it did not tell a single joke I laughed at, it did not entice me, nor did it make any attempt to give me choices I felt was worth value. To emphasize, early on, they genuinely ask you what your favorite flavor of ice cream is, and the options suck. Not to mention in the later question there is a way to game over where the narrator spits in your face and undermines your choices. I did not find the game charming, however I did like the art, I thought it was serviceable. The story of this game is exactly like its parent game. Nigh non-existent and contrived to such a degree that you could have literally anything happen and yet the game manages to have NOTHING happen. The game repeats itself, has no moral center or ideology, and worst of all fails to deliver on a concept that could have been so much more than what it is.

If you are not wishing to participate in the ten dollar joke and you are looking for something genuinely funny, charming, and valuable beyond its price tag, buy Monster Prom and Monster Camp. Convince your friends to buy Monster Prom and Monster Camp. In conclusion, Hooked on You: A Dead by Daylight Dating Sim was made to capitalize and exploit a long running joke about romancing the killers in Dead by Daylight. It manages to be nothing worth value because it is not an asymmetrical pseudo-horror player versus player experience, it is the unfinished product of one.

its a great little game for its price. even though it's simplistic, it still amazes the eye and ear with a beautiful day/night cycle and soundtrack. the only thing i think would make the game better is a level builder.
