Finally we have "next gen" on PC. If you can really even call it that anymore.

Looks great, runs great and is 21:9 ultrawide supported.

A LOT of quality of life improvements to The City and MyCareer. You can get started on street courts right away without having to play through any of the Story. The pre-draft days of your player are an optional story that give you good rewards you can do at any time.

The City is condensed and easy to navigate without a ton of empty space to walk around in (looking at you 2K23). Your "hub" apartment is a court so you can practice and shoot around whenever you want with access to all modes to get your VC. Also allows you to play with friends privately.

Addition of pre-made builds by "pros" and "shades of" NBA players is a welcome addition so I don't have to scour youtube for decent day 1 builds.

Though the VC and premium currency cash grab is still extremely egregious, it is still the best "MMO" basketball game you can play on Steam.

Better than I expected, which was a bad port of a mobile game. WG actually gave the steam version some thought and it plays mostly like WoT PC albeit with original WoT 2010 graphics engine and sounds. Just have to tweak some settings to remove the "mobile-ness" of it.

As a long time WoT PC player, the gameplay in Blitz is a lot more casual, which is good at this time in my life. However, there are a lot of tanks missing and the playerbase is a lot lower so it can be hard to find games without obvious bots in them even when it's only 7vs7.

The other big pro Blitz has over PC is the absence of SPG/Artillery and generous amount of uber casual mobile players that boost your winrate tenfold. Feed that WNR ego! Even thought it doesn't really matter in the end.

If I hadn't redownloaded WoT PC and saw just how much that game has improved over the years in fidelity and features, I'd probably continue playing Blitz. But WoT PC has drawn me in again and I'll probably eventually stop grinding in Blitz.

You should play Blitz over WoT PC if:
1. You have a less than capable PC
2. You have WoT experience and want to dunk on casuals in higher tiers.
3. Enjoy smaller maps, faster match times, and lack of SPG

Huge launch roster where every character feels unique.

Easy and accessible controls to get started but with a high skill ceiling for mechanics (think a combined Modern and Classic from SF6, it's there but you don't have to use it and there are drawbacks to the one-button inputs).

Rollback netcode online play is smoother than any other fighting game I've played. Crossplay out the gate for instant matches across all modes.

Insane amount of content for the price tag. Full story mode, arcade mode, 100 player lobbies with mini games (fall guys mode), robust training mode with frame data and detailed explanation for moves and character playstyle.

Lots of character colors/weapon skins and customization. Everything is unlockable with in-game currency and no outrageous costume DLC (yet).

On top of all of that, you can download and play for free with a handful of rotating characters to try it out.

If you like 2D fighters akin to Street Fighter and anime fighters akin to Guilty Gear and Blaz Blue, this is an easy recommendation.

Game needs an optimization patch for sure, but I don't think it's worth review bombing over. I have had no frame drops or crashes on my Ryzen/3080 combo. Game looks good and runs well at 75% res with DLSS on Quality and all settings on High. Be sure to update drivers too.

Keep in mind Hexworks/CI is not a AAA studio. The amount of effort here to create a viable souls-like in a very crowded market (especially this year alone) with this kind of fidelity is extremely difficult. And so far, the gameplay is exceptional. Temper your expectations and enjoy!

Imagine review bombing a decent budget party game because it doesn't offer an "offline" mode while you post said negative review while online. Put your pitchforks away and just play.

I used to leave good reviews like you, but then I took a 3KV LZR Cartridge in the knee.

Early Access Review
Amazing survivors-like, power fantasy, dopamine rush, 1v1000, just-one-more-run roguelike game. It's vampire survivors in 3D with rock solid performance and optimization no matter how crazy the screen gets. Early Access already has a ton of content (characters, weapons, spells, abilities, upgrades, levels, bosses, etc) with a ton more being released at full launch. Well worth the price tag.
