I first played Palia back when it first released (before it was on Steam) and had an absolute blast with it. It's addictive, it's fun and there's always something to do. Sometimes I have to take it slow and focus on one thing at a time else I'll get overwhelmed with choice!

Here I am, back again, two years later. I started from scratch and the intro has been streamlined so much better now. I think the only thing this game really lacks for beginners is there's not much of a tutorial around how to set up your house, add rooms, etc. It kinda just... throws you in and lets you figure it all out for yourself (not that it's exactly complicated, but still).

It's a completely free game with absolutely no incentive to spend money. There's no gacha, no pay to win, nothing of the sort. You can purchase additional outfits and pets with coin bundles. These are by no means cheap, but there is plenty of choice and, again, no pressure to buy them whatsoever.

It's currently my favourite game to sit and back on the couch and relax with on my Steam Deck :)

Very simple, short but super cute game! Relatively straightforward to 100% as well.

There's not much story - simply a cat trying to make their way back home. The gameplay focuses entirely on the ability to mess around in the city as a kitty cat. If you love cats, this is the game for you. That's all there really is to it!

The only issue I came across was with the kitty customisation on Steam Deck. The markings have a 'box' around them and so, if you place too many of them, you're left with a cat covered in texture lines. Wasted about 45 minutes trying to accurately recreate my own cat, only to realise she looked awful out of the customisation menu. These issues weren't present on PC, however. I did alert the devs via their Discord to which I received a response, so hopefully this is looked into soon.

It's taken me exactly 33 hours of game time to decide how I feel about this game... and I still don't really know what to say. I'm so 50/50 about it. Well, probably closer to 60/40, which is why I'm happy enough to give a positive review instead of a negative one.

If you've played the first game you know more or less what to expect. You're a pretty magical fox that can dash about and turn into a spirit and solve puzzles to unlock new areas. Except this time, it's open world! ... *Too* open world. But I'll get to that in a second. It's a simple story with no narrator. If you like foxes and running around as a fox (that you can customise!), you'll love it. Easy as that. The puzzles are fun, finding the furs to change the fox's appearance is also really fun. I love stuff like that. It kept me happy for the majority of my time spent.

... But why, oh why, is the map as large as it is?! The game starts on Fox Island and there's foxes everywhere, it's lovely. As soon as the story starts proper you're thrown into a giant, empty world. Literally empty. You and your bird companion are the only animals you'll see until you encounter the guardians. I spent the majority of my 33 hours so far running. And running. And more running.

My game encountered a critical error and crashed 4 times. Luckily, thanks to a lovely auto-save system, nothing of value was ever lost. You won't ever have to worry about losing progress (unless you die and cannot access your grave which *almost* happened to me twice).

Whoever did the music for the main menu screen? Why. Oh my poor ears. Such a high pitched screeching noise :( I love listening to game music and sounds as I play but I found myself turning the volume down each time I loaded the game just to avoid that god awful sound.

I also noticed that the writers aren't sure how to spell the name of their own antagonist. Is it Grimmir or Grimnir? Because the lore scrolls you collect indicate that it's... both. Which was a little confusing.

I had nothing but positive things to say about the first game and I was very much excited to play this one, and it's still a fun game! I'm looking forward to Saturdays to have a hunt for the Light Weaver now (which I only found out existed due to the Discord server, but alas, it's a fun little addition) but I cannot overlook all the little issues that stood out that sadly means I don't favour this game as much as I did the first one. I genuinely believe this game could have really benefited from not being so open world.

And despite everything I have to say, I did spend 30+ hours in a game I paid £12 for, and I would definitely say I got my money's worth. For that price it's definitely worth a shot.

TL;DR: Fox running simulator in a very empty world but the puzzles and collectables make it feel kinda worth it.

10 years later and this game is still just as beautiful as I remember ♡

... My skill level, however, has gotten noticeably worse! This game isn't the trickiest by any means, but still requires a good degree of patience and practice. How on earth it's possible to complete with just one life is absolutely beyond me. I'm proud of my game completion with 300+ deaths, thank you for asking!

My first ever Digimon game... So far, so good! The combat is super engaging and it's fun to try and collect all the mons. I was worried it would play too much like Pokémon but it doesn't - at all! I'm also invested in the story so far. Really glad there's a demo (that carries progress over, yay!) because I likely would never have tried it otherwise.

Also - runs super smooth on the deck! ♡

This game is an emotional masterpiece! ♡

I love a game guided by it's tone, soundtrack (please play with your headset on!) and art direction and this game hit exactly the right spot. I've yet to play GRIS so I cannot compare, but I adored the pacing. Some moments felt slow but for good reasons. There's no dialogue, but there doesn't need to be. Just a girl and her wolf.

It's not a long game either, can easily be played in one sitting, between 4-5 hours. If you missed a few of the achievements like I did and want to go back for them, that's not hard either as you can jump back between checkpoints.

Alba and Neva will be living rent free in my head for a while ♡

I really wish there was a 'mixed' recommendation option.

I'm not a veteran Rune Factory player so my opinion is solely based on someone who's very new to the series. I bought it as someone that typically enjoys 'cosy' games with a mixed element of combat (and it's got romance options too, woo!) so I really thought this would be for me. And taken at face value, it really is! But after 30+ hours and about half way through the main story, I simply don't care enough about the story, the characters, anything to continue it further.

The characters are designed to be half the appeal of the game and, sadly... they're just not appealing. Not a single one of them appears to have more than a singular personality trait (I'm looking especially at you Murasame) and it's quite simply tedious and dull to go through their side stories. I came so close to really liking Kurama's character but, again, one-tone personality that got boring fast.

However, for the first 20 hours or so it was genuinely pretty fun. Unlocking the villages and setting up how they all looked was great and I wasted tons of time simply organising my lil farms and shops. But as soon as you unlock the last village, the appeal's worn off.

I don't even know where to begin with talking about the combat. It's boring. It doesn't feel like what a modern game made in 2025 should be like. Rinse-and-repeat, clunky animations and button mashing til you win. It feels like it wasn't made to be an important part of the game and yet there's a ton of it anyway. I was right in the middle of a dungeon when I decided, that's it, I've had enough, after 20 minutes of clearing the same pack of mobs in a straight line over and over.

The only part of the game I downright *hated* (and I mean hated) was the NPC party dialogue. The same lines. Over and over and over. Yes you can turn them off, but then you'd miss some of the cuter interactions between certain party members. But please for the love of everyone's sanity, add more than 3 pieces of dialogue per NPC. ESPECIALLY for Woolby at the cooking stations.

Speaking of Woolby... I wish there was an option to mute him entirely. I'll be hearing his voice in my nightmares. (That and "little onigiri...". Urgh.)

All in all I would not outright say 'don't ever buy this'. Buy it when it's on sale (for like... half price) and give it a shot.

Spyro the Dragon was my very first video game back on the original PlayStation and seeing him so lovingly brought back to life in this trilogy was heartwarming! ... At least at first, until I remembered how rage-inducing some of the later sections are, but at least they recreated how annoying it was too!

I aimed for 100% completion and some of the skill points are a nightmare. The achievements were all relatively easy and you'll get most of them simply by playing the game normally. Took me roughly 50 hours to get everything done and I *really* sucked at the skateboarding sections.

My only criticisms for the PC-specific Reignited version are that it wasn't optimised too well when ported over to PC (I played the Reignited Trilogy on PS4 as well and had no problems) all linked to framerate - setting the frames to unlimited will cause you all kinds of issues from Spyro sliding around on his own to game-breaking problems with boss fights. Not the end of the world as you can simply set the framerate to 60fps (30fps in some cases) mid-fight.

And again, I really sucked at the skateboarding. Not sure if it was actually hard or if I was just bad at it but, regardless, I never feel the need to ever touch a skateboard again.

Despite some minor issues, it's a faithful recreation of the purple boi we love so much. You can tell it was made with love and by people that really care and that it's not just a cash-grab jumping on the remake bandwagon.

Hopeful for a brand new Spyro game sometime in the future! :)

This was my second playthrough (first time was on the PS4) and I swear the story only improves the more you play it. This game is nothing short of a masterpiece. I wish I could go back in time or erase my memory of it so I could experience it without knowing what's coming all over again.

I picked it up on a whim during a Steam sale (as of writing this, it's on sale again now - please pick it up now if you've ever considered it!) and before I knew it I'd put in 125 hours. I find it hard to put down whenever I pick it up again. It's just that good. As of today, I've only just completed the story; it's so easy to get distracted by the big open world that is packed full of detail and life.

Best part is, you can play this without having played the first game. I'd heavily recommend playing the first game either before or afterwards though - the order in which you play them could actually be done either way around, but, as RDR2 is a prequel to RDR1, playing RDR2 first will actually make the events of RDR1 make a lot more sense.

Arthur Morgan and John Marston are some of the best written video game characters in history. If you love good character development and a meaningful story, please play RDR2!
