+ Protagonists are cute, I love their relationship and interactions they have.
+ Game is fine, some good aesthetics & locations and monster designs.
+ For the most part the game plays well, the new arrow/wrench mechanics are fun.
+ Creepy vibes, just like the other games.

- Game is buggy as hell, in co-op, grabbing objects together leads to a lot of slow/frozen animations until one of you lets go and moves.
- In single player, your ally will often stand and stare in silence and not listen to your instructions, leading to very frustrating moments in the gameplay.
- Friend Pass players can't get any achievements.
- If the host pays for the cosmetic DLC's, the Friend Pass player doesn't get to use those cosmetics at all.
- Game has a bunch of other mechanics but locks them to specific locations, not allowing for experimentation and exploration.
- Requires the use of a Friend Pass for multiplayer but doesn't use the separate screens in any meaningful way that couldn't be accomplished with a shared/split-screen. No alternate cutscenes per-character, no creepy differences in vision based on what character you're playing.
- Reuses a lot of the vibes/framing/enemy concepts & scenes from the other 2 Little Nightmares games, but doesn't really do anything unique with them. (LN2 had a completely different vibe from LN1)
- Puzzle Designs are not really compelling, nothing about the puzzles really gave us an "Ah ha!" moment.
- Horribly unfair deaths, the game really punishes you for taking 1 second to react to a new threat. And sometimes the game doesn't even teach you what to do before you die, leading to so many moments where we said "what the heck were we supposed to do???".
- Wrench girl's had barely any dedicated cutscenes.
- No moments that force the characters to separate and spend a little while alone before reuniting.

and...

- STOP RELEASING GAMES THAT ARE INCOMPLETE FOR FULL PRICE, ONLY TO SAY YOU'LL COMPLETE IT AT A LATER DATE AS DLC.

It leaves a huge eyesore on Chapter Select and gives the vibe of: "Pay us extra money and in 6 months we'll give you Chapter 5." The story already feels incomplete, I don't need to visibly see on the Chapter Select that it's actually incomplete lmao.

Overall it feels like a game that was going to be a multiplayer focused game but switched gears halfway through once they felt like they would alienate some solo players. Half of the game feels like it was intended for multiplayer, while the other half felt like it was intended for singleplayer. But both halves feel incomplete and not polished enough to feel like a good final product.

I think overall this should have instead been considered as a spin-off that forces multiplayer and overall costs less. That way the game feeling short would've made sense and you could've spent more time developing a solid multiplayer-only game rather than a half-rushed and half-bad sequel to an already amazing series.

If you're looking to play this and are patient enough to save some money, I think $20 (50% off) is a better price for this rushed mess of a game.

One of the best metroidvanias ever made IMO and it's so densely packed with content it's wild.

It feels like a game that the devs yes-and'd with every tester that requested something "this should trigger something" or "wait shouldnt this protect me from this because-", and just kept making more and more.

Late-late-game is a bit frustrating for completionists/achievement hunters as i don't know if i want to explore the same locations for the 10th time (depending on what kind of gamer you are) but theres enough content there to justify revisits. I just wish I had saved my exploration for later.

My view on the criticisms:

- 2 Damage: I'm very tolerant of difficulties so this didn't bother me too much, but I can say I probably died a lot more than would've if it wasn't for the sheer amount of death traps they littered throughout the game seemingly for fun. Also late-late-game does something that really focuses on 2-damage across Pharloom and I really didn't like that mechanic at all.

- Economy: Besides losing about 1 hour or so to grinding, (late-late-game spoiler) they introduce a mechanic late game that farms money for you while you're out exploring. I think if they introduce this item mid-early game it would probably solve everyones problems.

- Diagonal Pogo: idk get good? Theres things you can get that make it easier to pogo, so just keep going until you get that.

But overall I had a great time!

I had a lot of fun with this! Really enjoy the movement and mechanics overall and wouldn't change anything besides maybe the controller mapping. Voice acting needed a little work and the animations need a little more emotion/expression as things feel a bit lifeless.

Pro's ✔:
  • Really good movement, wall-running,climbing, diving and momentum conservation are all great!
  • Tongue/Hook-shot thing worked very well! I love it when swinging actually handles momentum properly, some games fake it.
  • Item system is great! I loved being able to throw/use items nearly anywhere I wanted to, it allowed me to be creative with my movement.
  • ⬆⬆⬆ Backpack enhances this a ton, limiting it to 4 items was a very smart choice too.
  • The moment where things got void/creepy really helped break what was going to feel like a mellow world.

Con's❌:
  • The button for throwing would be much better as right trigger, fits the "LT aim, RT Shoot" combo a lot of games have.
  • Animations feel a little stiff and need a little more expression & character to them IMO.
  • Facial expressions are basically nonexistent and it feels like the characters are talking to brick walls sometimes.
  • ⬆⬆⬆ To add to this, in dialogue, the characters never really look at who they're talking to or staring into a void. Felt unpolished.
  • Voices felt a little bit quiet/muted, like the voice actors were afraid to shout or speak up.
  • I disliked how non-lived the world feels, with all these structures you'd think there'd be a few NPC's littered about, but only 1 per area kinda felt off.

(Played this game using Textractor/Textractor Translator, some information was missed/poorly translated.)

I loved the designs and the art very much, also the characters and some story moments were very impactful! Picked up the game to test a translation only tool and got sucked into the experience & couldn't let go half-way into the story! I also really like the bonus you get after ending the game!

Good (subjective):
+ Very high polish RPGmaker game with a good artstyle
+ A lot of animations, most RPG's don't do this so appreciate them!
+ Good blend of scare & cute/funny in both animation and dialogue.
+ Protagonist & Friends have great designs & expressions.
+ Good story + Interesting conclusions + lore.
+ Bonus for replaying & exploring for collectors.
+ Unique puzzles!

Not good (subjective):
- Chase music is very very loud compared to other sounds.
- Not many alternate paths to take/very linear.
- Male designs are less interesting.
- Pre-made chases & scares only, no random chance/patrolling entity.
- Chinese language support only.
- Most puzzles are too easy and don't require a lot of exploration & note comparison.

Suggestions:
• DLC exploring other characters perspectives.
• Option to disable tutorials so people can figure out the puzzles & mechanics themselves?
• Hard Mode for replayability that adds more threats & patrolling enemies.
• Hotkey/Button Configuration.
• Hotkey/Button for opening the Map.
• Other Language Support.
• Chapter Select that saves per-chapter/section?
• AFTER ENDING SPOILER: Use projector to view all CG/Pictures you've seen throughout the game.

Newcomer Tips:
• Make new save slots once every hour, some collectables, items & dialogue seem to get locked off and are inaccessible.
• Heal at save points instead of consuming items.
• Save all food for certain NPC's.
• Use your map often!
• Some items don't get used automatically and require manual activation.

Phenomenal presentation and polish went into this 2D platformer.

If you like beautiful landscapes, insanely good pixel-animation all while maintaining an eery lore, play this game.

seriously a good passive game to play on the side of hanging out with friends or watching a movie

only nit-pick criticism i can give is i wish the movement felt more polished:
- player feels glidey while walking around
- jumps are very floaty and your character doesn't snap when walking down inclines
- momentum mid-air completely stops if you crouch
- no coyote time when jumping off ledges leads to a lot of mis-inputs when trying to parkour to clean higher spots

but these are just nitpicks as the main gameplay, powerwashing, is very solid

simple silly co-op fun

it gets a bit thinky at times and i really wish the undo system was baked into a menu instead of finding a switch half-way across a stage

love rhythm games and this is a really good one, game feels entirely clean overall and very polished.

hits feel good especially when you get in a flow state, imo music needs a bit of variety as its mostly edm/dubstep right now, but im enjoying it regardless.

insane amazing game, could have easily payed $40 for most of these games but nah $20 pricetag for all 50 games is insane.

i also really enjoy that a lot of these games attempt to take an existing genre and spin it so its unique, like a platformer where lives are a currency, or a zelda game but you move a golf ball around instead of a hero.

havent finished all of the games on here as a lot can last ~20+ hours but some of my absolute favorites so far are: night manor, party house, mortol, mooncat, elphezars hat, seaside drive, valbrace, bushido ball, cyberowls, mini & max, camoflauge, and mortol 2
