If Sonic Frontiers was a preview of good things to come, Shadow Generations is one of the good things.
Modern controls are the same as Frontiers' but with way more polish. Levels are now long enough to matter and have interesting designs. It's great. Only down side is that it's just as long as Sonic Gens, so it ends very quickly.

As of writing Act 3 is yet to be released, but I doubt I'll need to rewrite this.
Ultrakill reminds me of what I love about videogames. It gives you a set of tools, and ways to have fun with them. Want to throw a coin, fire a laser into it, and destroy a guy behind you? Sure. Want to shoot a rocket mid-air, jump on top of it, and fly around the map? Go ahead. Lots of fun interactions that remind me of my days playing Team Fortress 2, but with tons more.
I can't recommend this enough. Ultrakill is fun, and it's what every game should strive to be.

How bold of them to make an extremely fun to read and to play murder mystery AND sonic adventure. I love this cast of characters, the mystery is fun even if really simple. The humour is hilarious and the ending is the best. Can't recommend this enough.

has a decent price on promos, but buying the base game and the relevant dlcs is still way too expensive. also, this battle pass is merciless. you have to play way too much to get any progress, and the limited time content gives unnecessary fomo to the players. i just want to play a good rhythm game ffs.
other than that, this game is ridiculously good. hitting buttons feels great, there multiple choices for number of buttons, note speed, difficulty, fader, background transparency/opacity. there is a lot of great music with interesting MVs, a great experience in general. if you're a rhythm nerd like me i totally recommend getting this on a good sale.
