I've played this game since... well, a long-ass time ago. I probably have 2000+ hours total. It falls into the same category of games as Dwarf Fortress-- a game I'll pick up now and again, burn days of time in, then put it down until I think about it again. That being said, please don't let my gaming habits reflect on how good this game is. Because it is -good.-

There are very few games that will keep me hooked for a long time. World of Warcraft, Dwarf Fortress, Rimworld, and a few others here and there are the only ones I've ever been able to consistently put 3-4 hours minimum a day into and never get bored. Factorio trumps nearly all of them with its near-infinite replayability and 0-infinity difficulty scaling.

There's always a belt to optimize, a production line to buff, or a biter nest that needs culling. Playing it Multiplayer makes it even more fun, if you can convince a friend to dump their life into a game. If you've got any kind of interest in factory-type games, or enjoy large networks of interacting dependent production lines, this is it. It is Anno on crack. It is Technic for grown-ups. Factorio distills all the unnecessary cruft from other similar games and keeps it straightforward-- but definitely not easy. Buy this game.
