Finished the first few missions and its not bad but not as good as the first one, specifically the enemies are way too vigilant in a really bad way. I don't mind getting caught, but what I do mind is how inconsistent it is. An enemy can walk right past me but not be looking at me and not get alerted. That same enemy can be on the other side of the room and as long as they are looking in my general direction I got spotted every time and the bar fills up super quick. even in Normal difficulty. Pretty dumb.

It's an ok game, the new upgrades to your outsider techniques are pretty cool and I bet when you fully unlock your character's skills playing low chaos is probably way more enjoyable, but until then if you aren't playing high chaos where you just murder everyone you see in/out stealth its not as fun.

started up the game and immediately realized you need to use a keyboard in VR mode, even though literally every VR headset has their own controllers or support for an xbox controller, the devs really thought that it'd be smart to default it for VR users.

Given that this game is 4 months old now and something as simple as KB&M only controls by default for VR users is still in the game I can't imagine this would be worth whatever I paid for it.

If you play this game first you may like it, but playing it after Y0 its just not that fun. The story is okay, but the combat is garbage. Unless you like getting hit by enemies, knocked to the ground, and smashing the A button a million times every fight, i'd pass up on this one.

edit: Figured since I beat pretty much every other yakuza game I'd take a turn back. I started over, thought that this game really couldn't be as bad as I initially thought (it was the only one where I just quit midway through) and figured if I could beat Y3 I could beat this one.

I was wrong. Just skip this one or play it on normal/easy if you really are interested in the story. Bosses are way too tanky and don't feel fun to fight, you do no damage, heat is garbage against them, and the combat is really bad, Dragon style is the only good combat style and its only good when its actually completed. The RPG elements in this one are really bad too, I don't think there is a worse feeling progression system in any other yakuza game.

*I may be writing this review at 19 minutes but I've played through the entire game before actually buying it on steam,*

This game is pretty fun and has a lot going for it. If you're a fan of really good physics and overly destructible buildings in a very sandboxy game its for you. The campaign is pretty easy to get through in a few hours, but I feel like a huge part of the value of this game for me is just how enjoyable it is to go into different levels and destroy them entirely in any way I want, burn them down, blow them up, with mods you can even drop giant moons on buildings.

This game has a lot of potential for mods too, I hope some day that the devs add in workshop so everything can be just downloaded without having to go to any third party websites and click through sketchy ads, The devs have their own level builder on their website and while I haven't used it I have played a few custom levels, people are very creative. The devs also have a few of their own custom maps in by default which were fun to walk around.

I will say, when you are destroying very large buildings and they are falling the game does generate a lot of fps issues, sometimes its cinematic watching a bridge crumble around you at 5fps, but when it lingers afterwards and you have to reset the stage its a little annoying.

In regards to the campaign, there is a story, you are a demolition dude and you take jobs to destroy things or steal things. A lot of it is timed, and at first I didn't like it, but when you get used to all your tools you can basically build your own paths around the stages and each mission just becomes you destroying the stage to create the most optimal path.

I know there is more coming to this game in regards to missions (given how the game ended) and I'm very eager to see the future! Really hope workshop and co-op is in the work!

PS: cars are optional. If you want to go really fast learn how to ride on planks of wood or objects around the map. You can't normally stand on something you are holding, but if you attach a piece of wood to it, and hold that, you can use the wood to drive pretty much anything around. A little clunky at first but overall pretty controllable and fun the just fly around the map on 2 planks built into each other. I could totally see obstacle course maps created by the community in the future centered around it.

U8 sucks really bad, super laggy even without mods. Basically unplayable. Thank god that they let you play older versions of the game. Devs please fix the mess known as U8.

I've been playing B&S since U6, and I feel like at least since then they've been promising some sort of dungeon mode. Today, U10 released, and finally it's here. Only one map that the devs have made so far is capable of it, but its a really interesting experience. I've played it about 4 times on the longest setting, and completed it on my 4th try. Each time was fun and uniquely generated. Lots of fun environments to explore in this one map.

Most importantly with this update, comes the ability for one of the most talented modding communities in all of PC gaming to add some community created dungeons. With mods like "The Outer Rim" creating full starwars addons, I can only imagine the type of crazy environments we will get out of it.

This game is very worth it, and always will be. You will feel like a total badass playing this game parrying and slaughtering enemies. There are a few VR games out there that are very worth it to go out and pick up a VR headset, and B&S is certainly one of them.

I've always been a fan of virtual reality, and games like these are why I enjoy VR so much. There isn't a huge learning curve to games like these and there is definitely a lot of fun just flying and swinging around while watching meteors fall from the sky and also running into other players and just discussing the game with them and flying around. VR is very unique in a way that it brings people together in a way games haven't really done before, and flying around and swinging off things is just a great environment to hang around with others in.

Also I love how there are points of interest around the map that are really cleverly placed challenges to scale. This game has a ton of potential and I cant wait to see how far it comes. I really hope more people pick this up and try it out because its free (so where's the harm?) and a lot of fun.

Tbh I've never really enjoyed no mans sky before I tried it in VR. It's not that its a bad game, its just that the whole exploration + survival genre has been beaten to death over the years and even after all the changes this game has gone through since launch, It's still not the most enjoyable game on the PC from that genre, and its been very hard for me to pick it back up. It's a good game like I said, but I'm just burnt out of that genre of games probably for good at this point.

But that being said, its one of the better survival exploration VR games I've played, and I really enjoyed playing through a few hours of the game today in VR. Honestly, everything about this game just feels so much better in VR. The large open planets, the space combat, the flying, exploring, even analyzing undiscovered animals fauna or minerals is enjoyable in VR. I definitely plan on returning. There are a few things that don't work great, sometimes if you are analyzing creatures it changes the map point you're focusing on and if you're too close to certain base components when holding certain buttons it can open up menus and dialogue even if I wasn't looking in that direction.

Highly recommend this game if you have VR, and if you don't have VR and aren't completely burnt out of the survival-exploration genre of games this game has turned into a pretty good one. Huge props to the devs for not just giving up after a bad launch. I've seen wayyy too many games with a good vision go down that path because their initial launch was crap.
