Halo is back baby

Fun game, but its crazy how there are some really fundamental things a lot of players complained about in beta (IE really dumb default controls that are annoying to change and don't really work when you change them, really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ radars, spammy powerful grenades being overwhelming on smaller maps, I could go on)

I'm glad that the big bugs were fixed from beta, but this game still needs a lot of polish.

I purchased this game back in 2016, and have played it a few times since. In terms of the game as a sandbox builder, it's pretty good, you can create a lot of really cool stuff, the game was obviously made to be as creative as possible, and it succeeds on that end.

Where this game fails, and has always failed, is anywhere outside of building and your creations. There is no multiplayer server browser, so the only way you are playing with anyone else to show off your creations is through a direct connection.

Also the survival in this game is not fun at all, and that to me is the biggest disappointment because you can make a fun super creative/builder style survival game, tons of games have done it very well but this game fails at the very basics, in that it's not at all captivating to play. The gist of what I've played of it is you run around, you hit crates with hammer and collect the items (individually, in the most annoying way possible where your cursor has to be right over it) Sometimes annoying enemies that aren't at all fun to kill come out of no where and you have to fight them. I played for about an hour, and beyond the blocks I acquired and a few wheels from smashing crates and finding chests in structures, I was no where near close to building anything beyond a small box hut, which is really dumb because that seems like the simplest way to get people inspired to continue to play, is to actually give them tools to construct and things to build or a reason to build it. And maybe the problem is that I'm missing something, and that could be, because there actually isn't any in game tutorial or direction given for what you're supposed to be doing in survival at all. The devs spent plenty of time working out a little guide book for creative and how to build things, but it doesn't explain what you should be doing in survival or a general direction at all for it.


After all this time, it's really disappointing to see survival in this state.

This game has SERIOUS optimization issues. If a computer with specs well beyond the minimum are not capable of running this game at a consistent 60 fps at THE LOWEST POSSIBLE GRAPHICAL SETTINGS, there is an issue with the game.

This is a fun MMORPG but I will not be giving it a positive review until its much more playable than it is now on my hardware especially when the minimum requirements are far below the hardware I currently have in my machine, and as is the game runs ~40-50FPS average and then when corruption or there are multiple enemies on the screen or too much foliage or flowers it just turns into stutter city.

I know the people who made the mod manager says not to post bad reviews because the mods don't work, but holy ♥♥♥♥ I bought this game FOR the mods and I can't recall more than 1 patch where I was actually able to use them because they break every patch.

This wouldn't be that big of a deal and I wouldn't be giving this a negative review if the devs of this game gave you the ability to easily downgrade the game like literally every video game that has an active modding scene constantly battling the patch pushing. The base Beat saber game is garbage, the songs are not good, and from there everything is a DLC cash grab.

This one just isn't for me. As a fan of the Dark souls series, It's like From software forgot how to make a good souls-like that is fun, but still hard. Instead they resort to the old days of having enemies that are capable of taking you out in 1-2 hits and have hardly any opportunity for counters or enjoyable combat and give them multiple health bars. Deflecting anything that isn't a fodder enemy feels bad and wrong but so does hitting the boss itself because they made the meat bags.

Haven't gotten into the main lobby yet because of queue times, which on its own is ridiculous, but I also don't understand why the devs solution to letting people know how long queue times are, is by sending you to twitter, I've literally never played a game that hasn't had your position in queue clearly on the screen. I don't want an ETA of some dev's opinion of when people may or may not log off, I want to know if there are 100 people ahead of me trying to log in or if there are 10.

Yakuza 3 made me believe Kiryu would be a good dad. This one really made me think otherwise.

Yakuza 5 is about cab driver, Taichi Suzuki. He drives people around. Sometimes he cooks ramen, sometimes he moves noodle carts, but his true calling, he discovers, is street racing after a fateful encounter between him and an undercover police officer.

This is a free game where you can be a monkey and play tag. Movement is super clean and fun. Community is also super chill and very willing to teach new players how to move faster, climb walls, trees, etc.

10/10 will monkey again
