It has the CHILLEST FISHING MINIGAME. MY GOTY AND YOU CAN'T CHANGE MY MIND!

Edit: Jokes aside, this really is a hallmark of story-rich RPGs, even in a year full of great hits. I loved this so much!

I was really looking forward to this game and for the most part, it has achieved what I wanted out of it in many ways. A Casual Kingdom Management sim that's easy to learn and get into (and it does that VERY well)!

Unfortunately, I don't see a reason to play it past the first playthrough. It's always the same Lakeburg map, the same building placements and building order, the same core loop of matchmake > assign workers > wait for resources > build buildings > matchmake. There is very little variance and even the randomized traits and events you could run into don't change the core loop in any degree. I had a lumberjack with one less arm who still chopped more wood than anyone else in the village. Worst of all, I didn't enjoy the matchmaking system; it felt novel on the first few runs but quickly became tedious (I found myself mashing through the dates at random with high chances of "It's a Match").

What does it have going for it? An insanely cute artstyle and a UI that just works. Unless you have more than 50 villagers, one of them dies, and now you're checking through every building to see which job you have to fill back up again.

I'm hoping to see some changes catered towards the game's longevity, with more reason to play through multiple playthroughs (more than to collect every ending picture, that is), and some quality-of-life improvements like a villager list and a way to tell what buildings have job vacancies quickly.

Short and sweet. Also, very fun, especially if you're with friends. There are quite a good different ways to complete some of these puzzles. I played this on my Twitch Stream [www.twitch.tv] with my viewers and we had a blast.

AWESOME story, AWESOME world, AWESOME characters.

But the game is nowhere near polished. Give it a few months and some patches, and this will be an AWESOME game eventually.

It's Minecraft but with villagers that actually use the toilets you build them, making you give a sh*t about their happiness. Also, it's Dragon Quest, which is always amazing.

It lets me build entirely intricate, sensible, beautiful zoos, and terrorizing, uncontrolled battle royale exhibitions between different animals. Best zoo building game. Ever.

Colorful, cheery, cartoony take on the unforgiving roguelike genre.

As a hobbyist fishkeeper, this game is a dream come true. UI and menus can definitely be improved, but I am loving the attention to detail to all the fish, the depth at which you can build around, and the accessibility of the simulation. It currently only has marine life, but I would love to see freshwater creatures added to the game.

UPDATE: There's freshwater fish now in the DLC pack! Amazing!

Simply fun, funny and well designed. A lot of it has been 'borrowed' from Bullfrog's Theme Hospital, and I love this game for it. It is pretty much the modern take on a game I used to adore.

It plays less like a simulation, and more like a puzzle game, with many of the maps coming in already predetermined boundaries and shapes, and they all have different challenges, such as one that requires radiators to combat the heat, another where you must train student staff into professionals, and many more. The progression is smooth, and easily teaches players the different rooms and major diseases players will face.

It is also just bloody funny. Lot's of British humor. Just love it.
