Yes. Just Yes.

This is an great game. It hits the tone and feel of Indiana Jones. The cinematics, the fighting, the mystery and sleuthing. I love every minute of this. Anchoring us with the Idol grab in the beginning was a masterstroke.

The fighting noises are right on, the whip is the THE whip noises and the voice acting is great. Overall a solid 9/10 so far.

FYI keep frame gen off. It causes graphical artifacting with the shadows for some reason.

Early Access Review
Sad.
I have 1600 hours across multiple versions of KSP 1. I streamed it and loved the game and the community. Everything about KSP 1 was a BEACON of how you should do early access games. It was always communicated and well done. The devs respected the base game and kept more coming.

When 2 was in the works the trailers looked cool and it LOOKED like they were taking the game that we all loved and giving it a serious engine and content update. I was excited beyond all expression.

I pre-ordered thinking that this game was going to be respected and a good investment of money based on the previous one. How I was wrong.... oh so wrong. This game was a turd the minute it dropped. bad FPS, skeletal content and no real playability. It slowly trudged through a few updates that helped stabilize it a little. Then boom. The dev team is gone. Take 2 killed it.

RIP KSP 2.

Sorry. After a terrible launch with serious issues that were discovered quickly by the community such as the lack of true simulation and representation of what is happening the devs haven't fixed it.

Traffic logic is trash.
Path finding for foot traffic is bad. They will keep using deleted crosswalks and that causes traffic to slow and back up. You can't correct it.
People can work at places they can't even get to.
There are no real sign of simulation at the level they claimed to have.
The graphics were a mess and required most enhancements to be turned off and the game still runs an inconsistent frame rate from 20-60fps, even on 2080Ti+ cards.

Just to name a few.

Instead they have pushed DLC content before even addressing the real issues at hand. There is no real planning or anything. You just build stuff and eventually the numbers go correct. You flip from negative income to positive with no real rhyme or reason. The math doesn't math, the sim doesn't sim and the RCI and info overlays are just there for visual pretty factor.

I WANT to like this game. But there are just far too many unaddressed problems that don't seem like they are being corrected or even being acknowledged and prioritized.

PLEASE fix this and bring City Skylines back into the forefront of city builder games. I want to like this game, I really do.

This game feels like a total conversion mod. If it was 15 people and 3 or 4 years of modding FO4 or something this would be very interesting.
As it stands this is a SEVEN year investment in development by a massive AAA studio. But it feels disjointed. The worlds are flat and boring with the same small package of repetitive things to do.

It doesn't make you ear your victory or your story. You don't participate beyond shooting people. You just get dragged along for no reason other than you touched that magic rock.

5/10 - no wehere near what was promised, bordering on false advertising.

Huge fan of the technical game play. It has always brought a lot of fun and challenge to the table. The atmosphere is cool and the game play is very fun and engaging. The "verse" style firefly feel of the music is fun.

The biggest issues I have are that they changed the rotation point to the middle no matter where you apply you guns tether. This reduced some of the technique in my opinion and made disassembly a weird beast.

The next was the addition of characters and story line. I work in a union job field and listening to all this is honestly annoying. I liked the one guy on the radio point of contact and then just being left alone to slice up my ship.

I even had a whole separate idea of what the universe was/might be and why I was there slicing up ships but instead it's just another "corporations bad" kind of plot. not terrible but definitely not what I had expected based on the original logs and weird robot like entries.

Love the game I really do, just wasn't a fan of a few of the changes. Over all it's a super fun game that is fun to just zone out with for a couple shifts and enjoy the process.

The RTX implementation on such an old engine shouldn't require such massive hardware resources. It's actually insane that this thing takes a 3060 or better to even get usable framearte in 1080.

My 2060 can get it to around 55fps stable using the alt-x options. It's wild how horsepower intensive this game is in comparison to Cyberpunk and other huge and graphically intense titles.

I'd love to give it a thumbs up, but between that and the crashes every 30-40 minutes or so it's hard to recommend.

Multiplayer only -
quick version: Fun when it works, but plauged with tons of connection issues (sometimes 30 minutes or more to get a match) and possible hackers (8 headshot kills in two seconds kind of stuff). The unlock system doesn't really let you unlock stuff except a challenge swaps, couple visors, one helmet and one set of pauldrons (you don't even get colors really). They require about 80 hours of gameplay.
I want to recommend it but I can't in it's current state, it's just a beta (at most) state wreck with all sorts of issues.

Pros:
It's free to play - It's Halo - It looks decent and plays pretty well.

Cons:
CONSTANT connection issues. Disconnections, fireteam failed join loops, failed dedicated servers, failed caonnections, "multiplayer down. Takes up to a half an hour to get a match sometimes. Yes I am hardwired, yes I have good internet, No, just stop. My set up is fine and the game is live. They have issues.

The "unlock system" that gives you 4 or 5 unlocks per 360-ish hours of gameplay if you don't have the battlepass. Basically just dangles stuff in your face and gives you nothing if you don't buy BP $30, which is separate from the campaign $60, both required to unlock things, or you can buy them all for $1035. Even paying people get boned.

Petty I know but: Zero reward or acknowledgment of any previous halo completion or play times. (like no bonus stuff for have MCC installed and beaten just certain things from the infinite campaign). Not even a calling card or logo to stick on my armor?

I am giving a positive because it's graphically polished and fun. It really feels like if Civ went on a different development path than 5 and 6. The combat is interesting and I like the building and territory styling. Makes managing large areas easier in my opinion. The build your own character options is super cool and I love that cultures can change over time.

That said the negatives are kind of big.
Culture loss is real if you go win a war and take a bunch of cities. if you exceed to city cap you will crumble. I won a war and ended up neg 500 culture per turn because of it and didn't have enough to absorb the cities. Either the absorb costs need to come WAY down (currently 10k north) or they need a less costly option downgrade to a territory or raze the city.
Evidently pollution becomes a massive issue later in the end game but I haven't reached that far before having a culture collapse or get steamrolled by a lesser power than can pump out units at an astonishing rate. Like second worst military power to world leader in four turns.

I look forward to the tweaks and fixes they bring and to see where they take the further development of this, it is a very solid foundation that just needs some tweaking.

This game was a fun treat visually and atmospherically. The sound minimalism makes the sound and music important and impactful. I am excited for the next game in the series and really with there was more here.
That said I will say that this game short for $15. Like 4 hours. You can rerun it (and you have to multiple times get all the achievements), but it is short.
