I'd love to recommend it, but honestly there are just a few die hard guys that play and absolutely will destroy you.
I used to really enjoy fleet AI but anytime after 8pm you can't find one, ever. Hell it even can't find me ranked games half the time. It's just dog fights against teams that 3v1 you as you spawn.

I WANT to like this game, but it is infuriating on so many levels and seems to be slowly dying as least from what i can see. 5+ minutes for a match isn't fun. 10+ is unacceptable.

A super interesting game.
It's grindy, but not it a bad way. It's part of the story. It works well. On top then it has cool characters and a very pretty world to experience.

12.1 hours of play time.
1.1 hours logged flight time.

It downloads a 550Mb launcher that counts as "playing the game on steam" as it downloads 108GB of content. Next time I launched it. It "Updated 108Gb of content. and you guessed it, today.... 108Gb of content. It redownloads and reinstalls the game every day.
11 hours of Downloads, crashes, redownloads, crashes and more crashes.
This game on many systems reported across the the internet can't be run in 2k OR 4k without crashing the system.
I run 1440 boom, instant reset. People are claiming I have a bunk PSU and I say to that: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. It works fine, fully tested. A-OK and overkill for this game and my system. This game has so many issues and feels like it was coded in 1997.

When it works it's so much fun. It's pretty. It's entertaining. But when installing the game alone removes your ability to refund it due to the time used?

Will change if these issue are ever addressed

If I have to sepnd 30 minutes figuring out how to make my X-52 stop making a cursor fly all over and then rebind half the controls only to experience an immediate bug of getting stuck INSIDE a station after clipping through a wall due to my reset controls I am out. It's one of the most common HOTAS on the market, if your space sim doesn't support basic hardware out of the gate you shouldn't have released it.
The game looks ok.
Seems like a great premise.
Just can't get over the technical issues. I refunded my $80. I'll go back to ED.

I keep seeing bad reviews based on some really stupid logic.
I am here to say:
Yes, like any game, it has it's issues. Pipes and cables break WAY too frequently and the colonist micromanagements is tedious and difficult sometimes.
Outside of that this game is a fun space themed city builder with survival influences. I keep seeing "Oh, I beat it 5 times so far its a crap game." Weird. I've never "beat" a city builder. There is always more to do systems to improve and things to be done. The game looks good. Plays decently. Gives you plenty to do for quite a while. Intersting enough varied maps and callenges to keep you playing multiple starts.
Pros:
-Mars survival
-Fun graphics
-Decent enough interface to undstand everything
-Fast enough pace to keep you interested.
-Interesting randomized tech tree and breakthroughs and mystery each playthrough.

Cons:
-Colonist micromanagement but the management is clunky and hard to be precise. Mainly assigning classes to domes.
-Time is weird. One Sol is about a year worth of time. Kind of just screws with your brain a little.
-Constantly break pipes and cables.
-AI that doesn't always stash resources correctly or colonists that wont go get food then you get a warning.
-Wish there was a toolbar at the top or bottom giving the supply information so I didn't need the full screen open eating my screen space.

So far so good. I love the game as a whole for the most part.
Runs good, looks good, the play is satisfying. Similar to Far Cry 2, 3 and Blooddragon enough. I never played 4 or primal.
The story is kind of interesting and the characters and cutscenes are fun. I love the weapons and and gunplay and the openworld destructive playground this game has created.

The only downsides I've found are:
Microtransactions for "silver bars" to get cosmetic upgrades and the such.

The store/upgrade menu needs a filter for stuff you own at the top vs having to hunt and scroll through all the differnet menus to find the ones with check marks.

The weird drug induced magically appearing animals are a bit much. Especially if trying to be stealthy, have a grizzly appear right next to you and maul you while you are scoping an outpost is KIND of annoying. I get that it's the bliss and stuff, but man it really snaps me out of the stream of things some times, and it happens A LOT. Like every couple minutes sometimes.

Yes.
Just YES.
I get it. It's a DLC. But man, for what this game has been. The community it has created. I will HAPPILY give my money to the devs for good content. It has a lot of awesome new parts and building options added in. Apollo, Gemini, Soviet rocket parts are all showing up. Mission builder. I mean come on. We'll worth it to added countless new ways to build.
I have played thousands of hours of KSP and will continue. This is still the game that did early access correctly. IMHO they are doing DLC correctly. They keep adding to the game. It took THREE years after 1.0 to get a DLC, everything else has been added in free patches. It's awesome!

The sky is the limit, now try to get there.... and beyond.

Spent $10. Drank some beers with my best friend and laughed our butts off.

No joke. Totally hilarious and fun nonsense game.

Cons - Controls can definitely use a rework. I haven't played a two hands on keyboard, use the arrows to control a character game since the old flash game days.

As a firearms enthusiast I really like this game. It's fun to play around with all sorts of guns and shoot at Hickok45s compound.
Solid fun, good game modes, COULD be used as a teaching tool. Gun models are very well done for the most part and the controls are decently easy to pick up.
Standard VR fuzziness depending on Resolution and ability of your system applies. Also you normal firing stance for a real gun DOES NOT work for the most part due to the way the lenses work and how you have to line you eye up to see well.

Side note: The floppy/loose loading ramp on the 590A1 drives me nuts as there is one literally in same room as I'm playing in and it doesn't do that lol.
