I think this is the only game ever with a triple-A price tag that I bought twice (On GOG at launch and on Steam for the Phantom Liberty launch). Still the best and most immersive experience in the genre. If you like cyberpunk as a style, you would have been happy with the PC release version and you will definitely be happy with the state the game's in now!

If you have played Ghostrunner 1 and find yourself feeling Ghostrunner 2 just somehow... sucks... stick with it.
Forget what you have learned in GR1 about fluid movement and keeping a flow and just go at a steady pace.

The music and visuals are great. I originally felt that the combat was much weaker than GR1 but the platforming and traversal was a lot better in GR2 (except for timed platforms, ♥♥♥♥ that, it completely ruins any flow you might have). After you get used to GR2's traversal mechanics and learn to approach combat as more of a puzzle, it's really fun. 100%ed in just about 15 hours.

I really really want to like this game. The artstyle and story are cute and fitting, the basic idea is nice and the game as a whole is very charming. It's also short enough and interesting on the first look, that I'd be tempted to 100% it.

The normal levels are playable, although the "story" is quite short with four chapters but the arenas and additional achievements are sadly just zero fun. The game is at its best in the opening hour, when there are not a lot of special enemies.

Everything from the third chapter on, including arenas and achievements is filled with special enemies that have some different variants but all just end in a gameplay loop where you hit an enemy once and then strafe around for 10 seconds to find another opening. And I don't mean this in the fun "learn the pattern" way, it's just wait until the AI decides to get stuck on something so one enemy is isolated and then hit it.

This was bad enough and zapped all the fun out of it for me. Even still worse is the fact that there's an achievement for finishing an arena without getting hit but the modifiers are randomized and their efficiency is all over the place. So you'd mostly re-roll modifiers for 5 minutes before each attemt, which is just plain boring.

For the love of god rebind the roll button when you start playing the game with KB+M and use that instead of down + right/left. - Before you get used to that!

Some later stages are almost unbeatable fast enough for the Speedrun achievement with the default layout on KB+M because you roll through floors instead of just dodging. Then you'll have to unlearn 4-8h of muscle memory if you want to get the achivement.

I really enjoyed DREDGE and since I read the negative reviews before purchase, I'll address some of them:

* Yes, the game is relatively short. I completed it in 12 hours and found all but 2 quests organically. You could do another playthrough to 100% it or just replay the "last quest" and look up some things to get the second ending. This is up to you but I don't feel there's too little content if you don't rush it.

* Yes, the gameplay does stay simple fishing minigames throughout the whole game. However, the unique gimmick of each of the 5 areas is interesting and brings some variety. Treat it as a walking sim - or in this case fishing sim - telling a story. The night/sanity mechanic is also pretty well done and brings some additional challenge.

* Not quite sure why some people think the lovecraftian elements are lacking. The whole game is one dark, sinister story told in a nice artstyle and the "default" ending is a really awesome scene. Yes, the story is not groundbreaking but the world is well built and the storytelling is just elusive enough to not give its twists away.

All in all, solid game for a weekend. Recommend playing at night.

Absolutely incredible. I originally just wanted to play through the campaign again to enjoy the visuals but they were so good and refreshing that I completed all the challenges again as well.

If you have portal and a beefy graphics card, definitely try this. Also, if your card struggles, try turning down the resolution. It worked fine for me at 2k on an RTX 3090ti but I've seen quite a few people complain about poor performance while trying to run the game on 4k/5k.

I was actually really bored for the first hour or two by Cloudpunk because I was waiting for the gameplay "to start". After zoning out for a bit and realizing that there isn't any more complex gameplay coming, I kind of accepted it for what it is and it was a great experience from that point on.

The environment is really beautiful and captures the dystopian cyberpunk future vibe perfectly. The artstyle is... uncommon for this kind of game but it's mostly consistent and has its charme. I found myself often completing a mission and telling myself I'll just do one more, I wanna see what's over there. - So it definitely got that aspect right.

The story is alright. It's not groundbreaking or even super well written but it's what I would expect and it's interesting enough to keep me wanting to explore the environment and find out more about the city and its story.

(The PC port is as "almsot ok" as you'd expect from Fromsoft but the 98% of time it runs without lags, it's awesome.)

A worthy addition to my small list of games I care to write a review for. Artistically, Furi is an absolute masterpiece. The environment is beautiful, diverse and the soundtrack is just awesome. - Though that might depend on your taste of music. The style has so much to offer and works really well for the combination of action sequences and bullet-hell segments. I personally like the idea of sacrificing complex attack animations in favor of an "easier" indicator (a flashing light) because it fits the style really well and is still way hard enough with the small parry window you are given.

One thing I feel has been overlooked a lot is the story. Yes, Furi might not be a game that cares to elaborate its story from a hundret different angles but there's a lot to enjoy here, if you are interested in it. The walking segments are very atmospheric, though not being able to skip them (even after the first playthrough) is a bit annoying when trying to just get a better story rank. I originally hesitated to pick up the game because a lot of professional reviews hinted towards the controls not being as responsive as one would desire but it turned out 80% of critics ware just too plain stupid to grasp the concept of an on-release trigger.
