This game is set in the early 2000s, when Windows XP and buddy messaging systems ran supreme. Despite never having experienced these things for myself growing up, I still enjoyed what this free game had to offer. As the title says, Emily is away, but she occasionally comes online to talk to you, and whatever username and name you put there. Specific usernames can even unlock certain icons, and if you want, you can try to find them all/get all the achievements for them! It's a very simple game, so if you're just going for the main story it won't be very long until you finish. But at the same time video games are becoming increasingly complex, so it's nice to have a little break from that every once in a while, and play something less lengthy. As for the system requirements, they are very low. Any computer with half a GB of ram or more should work.
TL; DR: Short and sweet, and unsurprisingly, it can run on a Windows XP.

Overall, this is a solid game, if you're willing to look past its flawed exterior. There's countless dinos you can fight or befriend - each with their own unique abilities/rewards - as well as caves, loot crates, and new areas to explore. There's even ultra-powerful bosses to face, massive farms to construct, overly-complicated breeding mechanics, and so. Much. More. It also has endless communities/servers(both PVE and PVP) that you can explore, so you can find which one is right for you. It's the perfect game for anyone who wants to get fully invested(I'm talking hundreds/thousands of hours!), but only if they have good hardware. This game's sheer lack of optimization is something I'll always criticize, yet it's still great for certain types of players. If you're more casual, I wouldn't really recommend this, as most players will either get super immersed, or drop the game after getting rekt by a dilo/raptor. Or if you're like me, you'll find yourself getting sucked back in - no matter HOW MANY glitches it has - time and time again. 8/10, give it a shot if your computer doesn't explode

You're sent to a faraway planet, filled with various types of amorphous blobs with eyes and mouths...and what do you do? Stick them in a corral and milk them for their po- I mean plorts, of course! Despite the main objective, this game has a lot of charm, not to mention fun side-quests on top of that. As you earn more money from your precious slimes, you can upgrade your ranching outposts to better take care of them, and earn even more money! But this game isn't just about money, rumor has it plorts are useful for something else entirely...but I'll let you find that out. You do need a good computer for this, but it doesn't have to be beefy, either. Even on the lowest settings this game looks great.
TL; DR: The title is the main focus of the game, but there's so much more than just milking amorphous blobs for their money. Your budget gaming pc will enjoy this a lot.

Spore is a game where you actively develop your own creation, from a humble cell to a galactic empire. Every step it takes is that of your own making. There are many different pathways for it to go down as well! It can be a peaceful plant-eater who does no harm, a ruthless carnivore who seeks to conquer, and everything else in-between. What makes this game so unique is how many different elements it combines into one, god-like evolution simulator. But on the other hand...this game is from 2008. It was also made by EA, and is known for having many bug, crash, and compatibility issues; ESPECIALLY with newer systems.

However, if you're willing to set its inconsistencies(and possibly archaicness) aside, it's an experience like no other. It might even trigger some nostalgia, depending on when you first purchased it :)

A space shooter that can get very intense, very quickly, especially on higher difficulty settings and with rock/metal/synthwave/meme music. There are various modes through which you can experience your music: from a boss rush mode that may have you bashing your head on the wall trying to get past wave 30, to a mode where you're overpowered and nothing can stop you...except enemies. Those can still kill you. But you have infinite lives so who gives a ♥♥♥♥!
-People who are sensitive to intense visual stimuli should stay as far away from this game as possible. Even the title card you see in the Steam Store before your purchase could be enough to cause permanent eye damage, with side effects such as seeing flashy cosmic lights every time you walk down the street.
-But for everyone else, you can adjust the visual intensity in the settings! And feel free to enjoy the marvelous Space-Shooter Bullet-Hell that is Beat Hazard :)
-(10/10, will go blind again)

Stardew Valley is a game worth buying. As you chop trees, go fishing, mine for precious minerals, fight monsters, and more - it almost never fails to entertain you and keep you immersed. You start out on a very dilapidated farm, but as you clear out the weeds, rocks, and stumps laying around, you start to realize there may be more to this game than just farming. There's people you can talk to, quests to complete, gifts to give, etc. There's so much to do in this game, and if you're like me and want to complete every single achievement, expect to sink at least a couple hundred hours! I've played this before on the Switch(the version I first played), a standard laptop, a gaming laptop, and the mobile version on a standard android. It ran better on the Switch and gaming laptop, but still pretty good on the standard laptop and phone.
TL; DR: Despite the title/cover art this game isn't just about farming - it can be a fun experience for any kind of player! Even your toaster will love it!
