New review (2026/01/26):
VRChat is a great game, and I've meet soo many people on this platform which I wouldn't have meet otherwise! While there are certain communities that are worse, in general, it fosters the certain type of people I like being around ^^
Other platforms like Resonite do exist, and in my opinion offer a lot more than VRChat, but the issue is that everyone is already on VRChat, and I love all the friends I have made here!

Despite all this, EAC is still in the game, stopping the development of mods, and always having the looming dread of an insta-ban for Linux developers who modify software.
The developers seems to have kept the EAC stuff to a minimum, even specifically document how to get around EAC on Windows virtual machines and ensuring Linux support works well.
While I am not as hard in my review as before, I will keep my downvote to this game until mod support comes back, especially with the ADs on the platform becoming ever more common place.

In case you wanna read my old review:
========== Previous Review ==========
The VRC devs added EAC which doesn't work on Linux >:(
This means I cant even play the game AT ALL
It also stops me from putting in mods so I can have fps

For anyone wanting something similar try out Neos as it supports mods and is just generally better

Edit (2024/02/11):
It now works on Linux! And the Neos option has been replaced with Resonite.
Im still not gonna revoke my un-recommend due to there being no need to add anti-cheat to a social game. It would be like if Discord added anti-cheat. They could..., but it is pointless.
