Also, you can increase number of pilots by building barracks with your constructor, just like in Blizzards RTSs. There is a limit of course but it is rather high.
So glad you liked it even though you never played it before. Considering how much games have changed in almost 20 years, this game proves once again that it is a classic.
But darnit, Battlezone is not slow paced. :P Have you completed the whole campaign yet or tried the multiplayer Strategy maps when commanders face of against eachother? Now those are tense.
