I'm so annoyed with this in all dimensions that I'll give you a tldr up front; its an utter, utter, utter waste of your money and time. Do not buy this, do not back these people and their practices. As a professional developer with decades in industry, this is the most potent example of half-arsed, careless abandonware I have had the misfortune to experience, and I've taught this ♥♥♥♥ in schools to people with zero prior knowledge before.

These developers have consistently promised a long since fabled update. It hasn't materialised in literally years. Save your money, this really, REALLY is not worth the hassle and will likely never change. Its been over a year at time of writing since there was an update.

I've tried, oh have a tried to get anything out of the developers other than 'Update is coming'(TM). Nothing quite describes screaming into the abyss more than these people.

Give it a quad mesh, it will often triangulate it, and badly. Export an animation, It will regularly split a mesh into several parts. Don't want this behaviour? Close, execute the software again, import model again, see if it works that time.

You've imported a model and need to change simple settings like bone offsets, scales, rotations? Cool, do that somewhere else. This software has an editor panel for doing that, though it doesn't work at all. You can set these to any values you like. They won't do anything, but at least you'll feel like you've given it your best shot, and you got to do a bit of typing, which was good exercise?

Don't want root motion? Cool, don't re-target the root bone. Ah never mind, its been added anyway when you export.

You will spend an inordinate amount of time correcting output from this, if it is even correctable in your case.

It is seriously faster to write your own computer vision MoCap software, perform your own animations and lie to yourself about recording more.

That is how bad this is.

If by some masochistic turn of events you're still considering actually buying this, have a look at the promo videos and images on the store page above. Looks like it might be useful with things like the ability to export entire packs of animations right?

Yeah, no. All of the promo material is at best a misrepresentation of reality. The UI is vastly different, exports can only be performed on a per-animation basis and the UI that does exist is largely non-functional.

You can make presets of offsets, though they don't work and once you have made one, you have to spam click all over it to find the magic pixel for its entry in the preset list- some just don't work.
Re-create the preset and try again, if you can remember the offsets for that preset to re-make it, but again, not to worry as the offsets don't work anyway, its just a nice thing to look at I guess? You will probably also notice while looking at it that the developers failed even to display the paths to these presets correctly, which is... interesting.

It is clear the level of contempt and disdain these people have for their customers. I don't like this. You shouldn't either.
They have consistently lied over the course of years from the capability of the software, its roadmap, availability of animations, even the store page itself. They are liars. This is dead and so it my patience for 'developers' like this.

It needs removing from sale and them banning as a publisher until such time that it becomes anything resembling the store description.

Additionally, the animations contained in here are for sale on their own independent company store. ALL of the animations on there past, present, future were promised to be added to Motion Studio. As you can imagine, they haven't been. I can't recall at this point any animations being added after the initial version.

I've asked several times for the opportunity to download the animations from their site or elsewhere, as that is what I bought this for. I've been ignored on all fronts including more recently in the steam discussions board.

As the software is useless, your options with this are to grab the .glb files from its install directory and manually work with them yourself in your software of choice, though again, you're only going to be getting a very limited subset of content.

the absolute irony of it all is that you apparently cant say "p2w" anywhere on idle slayer's comments or whatnot because the devs are big babies.
i would have gotten the game if it were still pay to play though

It does bud. Read instructions, give it another go. It works for everyone else, have a look at the comments on it.
