I don't usually play Gacha games, but I thoroughly enjoyed Project Moon's last two endeavors, so I thought I'd give this a shot.

This is one of the best games I have ever played.

Anything I could say about the story would reduce its impact, so I will say no more than that it is one of the best.

The gameplay, While initially appearing to be heavily simplified from Library of Ruina, is shockingly deep once you get into it. At the same time, it's streamlined enough that going through dailies/weeklies doesn't feel like a chore.

Speaking of, the Gacha/live-service elements are incredibly benign. All characters can be "shared" with in-game resources that are easily obtainable via in-game grinding. There is a battle pass that makes grinding for these resources more efficient, but it's very affordable + very much not needed.

The only situation in which sharding is restricted is "Walpurgisnacht", an event in which units are released as crossovers with the previous games, Library of Ruina and Lobotomy Corporation. You can't shard these units most of the time, but you CAN during walpurgisnacht. Let's say you're online during the fourth walpurgisnacht; You can't shard any of the current WP units, but you CAN shard anything from Walpurgisnachts 1 through 3. This means Pmoon gets more money (which I am more than happy with), but everything is still very obtainable without gambling.

Speaking of gambling, this game is **very** generous with its currency. For context, yesterday was the game's 8th anniversary, and we got the equivalent of 30 pulls. On top of that, we get 300 lunacy (the game's currency, a 10 pull costing 1300) every time the server goes down for maintenance, and 1300 every time there's a large enough bug (which unfortunately/fortunately doesn't happen too often).

If you're noticing a downtick in the quality of recent reviews, it's because the director recently announced that "Season IDs" (which are essentially the biggest/most hyped/most expensive to produce units of the season) will be un-shardable until a week after their release. Some people appear to have misconstrued this decision to mean that after a week, these IDs will no longer be shardable. ***THAT IS NOT WHAT WAS SAID.***

overall, peak 10/10
