Early Access Review
Really fun, especially when you unlock the magic wand. The playerbase has shrunken since the game's height of popularity in January and February of this year, but there are still enough people to make the game interesting. Most of them are either young children who can barely speak English or slightly older children who have a sense of superiority over the aforementioned young children. You occasionally meet some cool guys, though. The combat is very basic and sometimes boring. Learning spells for the mage class is fun, but you'll usually just stick to a set of 1-3 spells that you use over and over again in combat. The warrior class has just a sword and a shield. When fighting enemies, you wait for them to attack and put your shield up, then when they stop you have about 2 or 3 seconds to swing at them. Rinse and repeat. I haven't played the other two classes, musketeer and ranger, but I imagine that they aren't much better. I also haven't played through the story completely yet, but I don't reckon it will be anything to write home about. Despite all that, this game is pretty addictive. The world is big and there're always new things to discover. If you can get past the lackluster combat and general generic-ness, this is a wonderful game that can suck you in for hours and, every now and then, offer fun interactions with other players. It's not worth $40, though. 8/10, wait for sale.
