Sometimes, games become such phenomena that you just can’t understand why they got so popular. WEBFISHING is one of those.
The concept is as simple as it gets: a chat room with fishing as a sort of casual activity (ever noticed that when you’re hanging out on Discord with friends, it’s mostly about chatting, with games like Overwatch, LoL, or whatever taking a back seat? Here, instead of those “hefty” games, you have a simple clicker disguised as fishing).
The game doesn’t aim to be a serious fishing simulator: there’s no splitting fish types by bait, no habitats (rivers or lakes) to worry about—none of the details you’d expect in something like "Russian Fishing 2023". Instead, it offers a huge variety of cosmetic items that let you customize your furry-avatar, titles under your username, a “drunk typing” effect in chat if your character has had one too many drinks, and even a guitar that you can play like a MIDI keyboard.
Honestly, it looks and feels more like a Roblox map or a metaverse-style environment, so it feels like it should be free (I’m not judging the developer, especially given the game’s pretty low price). Anyway, I hope the developer comes back with something new that adds more to the gameplay but keeps this game’s vibe as an adorable chat room.
