I wouldn’t recommend it for everyone. It adds additional complexity to the game, atop what RimWorld already has, so some may find this DLC too challenging or tedious. But If you've ever wanted to go through an evil or altruistic playthrough, or do something specific in mind like worship animals and abandon technology, this DLC is pretty good. You have the option to encourage or condone certain actions and behaviors, whether it's eating people, raiding, selling slaves, using people for organs, or more kind actions like charity. It adds another tedious step to starting a new game, as by default, your ideology is unalterable in-game, so it's important that you set up everything to work the way you want at the start of the game. Thankfully they already patched in the option to save ideologies.
It is quite bare-bones, but since this is official content, it has the potential to be greatly improved upon by the modding community. It adds a slew of new challenges and problems to deal with, so some may not want to play with it turned on all the time. If you’re an Orthodox Vanilla player, or if you happened to find the new features added by Royalty too tedious/annoying, this is DEFINITELY NOT for you. If they happen to add extra content to the DLC, it’ll be great, especially for those have it priced at 20 dollars. If they do, you might want to consider swallowing the price tag if RimWorld – Ideology sounds like something you’d enjoy.
